The primary aim of this mod is to get away from the current gameplay which for the most part involves spamming tanks. We are introducing gameplay that requires, scouting and using a variety of units to be successful. Tanks are not the do-all units anymore, instead you need artillery units to take out defenses, tanks to take out artillery units, air units to take out the tanks, and AA units to take out air units. It's basically bringing Rock-Paper-Scissors to the game which we believe makes it more challenging and interesting. We're also making the factions' abilities exclusive. By that we mean only Nod use mines (so no APC mine drops) and they are also the only ones that use cloaking technology. The same applies for GDI who use more EMP now etc. We think this better defines the play styles of the factions so that you aren't just playing each faction more or less the same way.
Nod's Radar building that will be in 1.3, also with 3-4 radar related abilities.
hmm main building looks to much gdi thanks to the texture if you replace it with a nod style texture it will fit nod perfectly
I agree, little too much GDI texture going on there but give it that nice dark gray/black nod scheme and it fits.
We'd be all for giving things new textures and such, but unfortunately our two-man team doesn't include a 3D modeler, and neither of us is familiar with any of that. That's why we've been borrowing structures and units from the vanilla game.
Do you need a re-texture artist?
For sure! We're very close to releasing version 1.3 so any new textures would probably not make it into that version, but 1.4 won't be far behind and they could be included in that release.
I'd like to point out that this structure is actually a Nod structure created by EA, used in the campaign. I don't see how it's not Nod-like, it's got that sleek yet jagged look to it that seems menacing. Maybe the player color chosen for the picture wasn't the best, but regardless the structure looks really Nod-like to me.
It's a set piece building, so it stands out with the normal everywhere nod colors.
do you still need a modeler/texture artist?
