Hello and welcome to Star Wars: Strike Groups, a brand new full conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion, and Stellar Parallax's first Star Wars project!
Yes, we know we're a little late to the party on this one, being far from the only Star Wars mod available. But we've always wanted to do a Star Wars project, and with Sins 2 finally appearing on the distant horizon we figured that now is as good a time as ever for one last great hurrah on this platform. We hope you'll come along with us as we embark on this new journey together.
Initial ideas for Strike Groups actually started rearing in our heads some years ago. We've always wanted to do a Star Wars mod, but with Armada III, Ages of the Federation and other Star Trek projects taking precedence, it's something that never made it to the forefront. Still, the ideas were there, and Max, our team leader and chief 3D modeler, being the mad monkey that he is, over time put together a number of high quality Star Wars models as a hobby. Ideas and art assets for a Star Wars project slowly came together as a never-to-be-released side project for fun. When Sins of a Solar Empire 2 was finally announced in 2022 it threw out future Star Trek plans into limbo, but did offer up a golden opportunity to make our own Star Wars mod a proper reality.
Enter Star Wars: Strike Groups.
We've been working on SWSG for several months now, and it was with fiendish delight that we actually announced the mod's existence a month ago, though this announcement was deliberately timed to be misttaken for an April Fool's prank. You can blame Hobbs for that particular mischief.
Nevertheless, as you can see, Star Wars: Strike Groups is quite real.
So what's the mod about?
SWSG players will be able to take control of four distinct factions over two eras of Star Wars history - the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War. Will you defend the Galactic Republic against the droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems? Will you rise up against the might of the First Galactic Empire as the Rebel Alliance? Or will you do exactly what I'm planning to do and snuff out all that is good forever? That choice is yours.
Unlike our previous Star Trek projects, Star Wars: Strike Groups will focus on gameplay, with the offical canon and Legends ship stats taking a back seat. While we promise to strive to make the mod feel as authentic as possible with respect to the setting, the mod's focus will be on balanced, competitive battles.
Tactics, fleet composition and (true to Star Wars) strike craft such as fighters, bombers and more will be vital to your success. Each ship will play an important role in your fleet. Each space station will be a valuable investment. Each world will impact how your empire functions. The Galaxy is in your hands....or at your mercy.

Is there a chance the standard Providence carrier/destroyer won't all share the unique identifier of the Invisible Hand, being those yellow stripes at the bow many mods just use on all of them?

Thank you very much for developing this mod, I look forward to a playable beta version soon, will there be the possibility of a mod between the Star Wars vs Star Trek or Warhammer 40K franchises? I know that doing the 3D modeling is hard work but it would be for a medium to long term position.
And if there are writing errors, English is not my native language, I apologize in advance.
I'm glade you said that their is a mod in development called sins of kuromorimin its supposed to be a mod with star wars halo and a couple other factions the dev team is small like two people but progress is steady if your interested I can give you the discord link

just a short question:
How far along are you right now with building this mod?
I'd like to support you by making gameplay videos of your mod, but I'd like to have
a) your consent to do that
and
b) the most stable version you have at the time that you're reading this.
Just don't expect a lot of people to suddenly come running for your mod as I'm a very recent YouTuber with a VERY small number of subscribers.
Please give me your answer at your earliest convenience as I'm aiming to check the comment section here on moddb at least once a week.
Even if your answer would be "no", I would still look forward to try out your mod once it's far enough for publication.
We will not release the mod before it is in a state to do so. We will only release it to everyone to play at the same time, we don't give out early access sorry.
