Good god, go check the Star Trek Online forums, the debates on carriers are like rabid dogs over a prime steak.....

There are a ton of trek fanatics on both sides of the fence, some love them, others hate'em. Personally I love the fed carrier they have in.....

Description

As the cold war with the Klingon Empire dragged on, without escalating into all out war, Starfleet found that there were situations where one ship could normally keep the peace.

Even in those situations though an extra show of force was sometimes necessary, and the most effective immediate deployment of force was through a Midway class carrier.
