Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
Klingon D-5 Battlecruiser by Kophyeager.
Sleek and aggressive looking. Keep up the great work.
I think I found a new favorite!
Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam!
I always loved the D5, it evoked a lot of the same feelings as the old D7 in the TOS. Something the ENT producers got right when she finally aired as Duras' ship. :D
I would love to see the D7 and the Constitution as dreadnoughts, though I just love seeing all these screenshots popping up. I can't handle the hype.
Id rather see them as late game heavy battle ships with something of their own creation serving a dreadnought role
It's still not clear if there will even be dreadnoughts in Axanar, at least in the manner to which we're accustomed. Odds are the 'dreadnought' concept will be significantly re-worked.
Still early days, so we'll have to wait and see.
If there are I don't like the thought of them being battle orientated. A complete rework of what dreadnoughts are and how they're used would add a lot to the time period of Axanar and add distinction between CTA and Axanar plus as we've seen canonly nothing should overpower a Constitution or a D-7.
It's a question of balance. As far as the devs are concerned playability supersedes canon. Whatever they decide will be in the interests of balance and fun. That said, canon is important to them and they'll be true to it wherever they can.
If I may put forward, which I'm sure the dev's wise in all ways has thought of already. Have the Conny and D7 fill the role of titan. Axanar the film is a story of a arms race and thinking of how to incorporate that into Sins format. It makes sense for these ships to be the ultimate unit to field.
And making it so you can have more than one titan is not more than changing some of the back code. See Interregnum(sp?) as they have done so. So instead of saying you can only have one ore two D7's it could be that they just have a really high cost in fleet supply and command points.
Swarm of Bop's or a small number of d7's that will lay wast to all in their path.
Not True. Having more then one titan is allot harder. Also the constitution and the D7 will be capital ships. There are multiple reasons for this. And yes on a 1v1 they will be the most powerful however what will happen when a Constitution is ambushed by a D6 and 2 D5s??
He's dead, Jim?
He's dead McCoy.
I thoroughly support this idea. Thank you for the clarification.
Still i just dont understand something about the Anaxar Mod, will it be a complete indepedent mod from Armada III? If yes why doesnt it have its own moddb site and forum?
And how far is the progress of the mod, did you start new with it or do you work since a longer time on it?
Call it a spin-off. Separate but related.
CTA started out as a simple expansion, but ended up turning into a massive project on its own. Very little of the original Armada 3 made it all the way into CTA. Almost everything was redone or updated. As work progressed, the ModDB page turned into the CTA page.
The same thing will happen with Axanar. The page will transition to center on Axanar as work progresses.
All versions of the mods will still be available, though. :)
Work on Axanar has barely begun. The entire game is going to be extensively re-worked. It's a major project and it's going to take a while.
The Devs will talk about Axanar at a later date the artwork images are merely promo at this point, we will likely even discuss the future plan for the moddb site as well once we have discussed with the mod db designers.

Is this design going to show up? Its a great design, I'm sad they never used in the show. It was made for Enterprise, but instead they just reused the K'tinga model from DS9

There are similarities, but that ain't no K'tinga.

What you've got there is a D-4.

No, I mean the ship they used in Enterprise was just a Reused K'Tinga model from DS9, the image I linked was the model made for the episode, but never used.
