Regular FN FAL? Thread - MISERY mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

I can remember they promised that a regular FN FAL (not the PARA) would be available through a guy in a shed somewhere in Pripyat.

Did they cut him out of the game or am I just not searching good enough?

I know in 2.1 the FN Fal regular is dropped often by stalkers and is nothing to amaze about as it lacks the upgrade three tier. You better of with the FN fal camo, though it lacks autofire or the stg 58, it is a german version of the FN fal, it is better in al parts, though only comes from high end stalkers.

Thank, just got into pripyat in 2.02 but if 2.1 has got a FAL I'm definitely playing it all over again just for the FAL.

I suggest taking the stg 58 as it is has the modern upgrades over the old fn fal. Only you use the rifle for range sniping, the camouflaged one that can sometimes be sold by owl is really stable and hits quite well, with a susas 4x scope. I use it a lot as an assaulter, cause it has reduced recoil and I drop foes over distances of 150 meters or more with relative ease. Not as good as a dedicated sniper rifle for a sniper but you do get close to the lighter sniper rifles. Also the camouflaged has a high rate of fire even though it is not automatic, with triggering fast you can kill short range good too.

I'm absolutely loving the STG58, its a DMR at range and a heavy hitter up close. I can give headshots at long range and once dropped 4 heavily armoured mercs at 10 meters who where suddenly next to me before the first had even drawn his weapon.
I've not upgraded it recoil wise to keep it a bit realistic but am still waiting to come across the camo version.

It is a bit inconsistent however, sometimes I down heavily armoured targets in 3 shot and sometimes it takes like 12 shots, specificly the metro armour takes a lot of hits to take down.

Ive got a couple of questions but I don't want to open new threads;
1. I found 4 duty men inside Noah's barge and now Noah is nowhere to be found to get the compass?
2. The game is getting more unstable as I progress through the game. In 2.0.2 It crashed everytime a loaded a game in-game but fortunately 2.1 doesnt have that problem. It is however crashing more and more as time progresses. Why is that?
3. I've not gotten into Pripyat yet but I've got to ask, is assazin (or however its spelled) present in the game?

Noah dies easily when you leave his door open, cause mutties can rush in you see. Nothing else to do then use a spawn program.
Depends on the crash (check the end of the log) Also have you downloaded the fixes in the OP post of the reports?

I've gotten into Pripyat and yet I cant buy a exoskeleton anywhere, do I need to progress further into the game?

12.7mm ammo just became availible at Owl, there is one hell of a gun in this game.

Still looking for the exo, Nyayr please help!

I play 2.1 beta, just now i found L1A1 (FN FAL in some licence) camoflaged 2x in one raid, it has even better stats than STG 58, of course i repaired one , use second for spare parts, buyed grenade launcher, susat scope 4x, and i WANTED supresor.......

help, cant find it, still in zaton, Owl has supressors , but they do not fit....

it should be 7.62x51, i think, but i can see only 7.62x54 for some sniper rifle

This can be deal breaker for me, i need supressor , i hate grenades on my head after i fire 1st shot from my new cannon.

Even got an L1A1? Awasome. There is a silencer somewhere called the sandstorm for the 7.62x51, cant remember how I got it however.

Those silencers cannot be bought. You have to be hopeful a fn fal (any type) or imi galil has one when you take it from a stalker.

I was using L1A1 for a while before switching to SKS. I just can't get used to the SUSAT Scopes, the obelisk is always blocking out the whole target when i am aiming for the head and since the target usually wears black or green, if i missed my first hit and the target move away, i tend to lose sight of him against the dark backgrounds. The ACOG nightvision scope for the SKS is just amazing, i hardly ever lose sight of the target since.

When in Pripyat the objective is to find the missing radio signal when I get there and it says search the body theres no body?

yea , i must agree, the scope is anoing, obelisk is blocking lots of wiew, i am concidering selling my unique camo L1A1 and scope, finaly silencer, grenade launcher.
Also handling seems off little bit, i play assaulter, and " lower handling " akm feels more light, find target sooner, moving of the gun feels smoother , quicker....
with L1A1 its like a turet on the tank, you move your mouse and you feel a delay when cursor finaly moves too.

I find the acog scope x2 lacks the depth view, also the little arrow is annoying. Honestly the best sniper rifle is the sig 550s I was forced to use it as a recon and geeze it is a killer, much better then the sks any day. It also has deep end fixed scope and has cross line with a simple tiny dot in the centre really nice to look with.

For an assaulter the samo m95 (I think it is called) the finnish fixed scoped ak). Its high fire rate, minimal recoil and bests all ak's, you can literally fire quick snap shots without the barrel barely lifting. Just try getting it as its a rare buy from owl, you really need a few achievements before its available, however it comes out before pripyat if you get them.

The camo l1a1 is meant to sit in the bushes and pick off enemies and not run/stand shooting. I don't find the obelisk annoying as I tend to gaze over my scope, though have to admit there are better scopes, the simpler historical clear scopes and in my view often better cause of the thin lines.

I am in love with the L1A1 I can kill anyone at any distance it seems like. High caliber, high accuracy, durability its amazing. Definitely best gun in my opinion. THe silencer by the way is bought by the Yanov medic, owl, or Garry.
