So I am at the part of the main story where you are trying to find the source of the radio jamming in Pripyat,
but I need to loot explosives off a body to get into the Kindergarten. Upon going to where the quest marker sends me, the quest updates to check the body only it is not there.

Is there any way to fix this? Or is it a bug that I can't work around?

I never had any issues with v4 and bodies disappearing, and the kindergarten quest was one of the things tested

V5, and 5.1 are lurking about in the bug report forum and the kindergarten quest was tested on those to with no bodies disappearing as well..You can try one of those

I noticed it says this fix is for 2.0.2 only and that all the fixes are already incorporated with 2.1. Well, I'm running 2.1 (not beta) and this bug still occurs for me. I've searched the forums but I haven't found anything on this. Help please?

This happened to me once on version 2.1, I had to reload a save prior to taking the quest and then went to that spot right after taking it this time around. Luckily, I didn't do much in the meantime. Try using the forum search function, you might find a workaround.

Ok, I'll try that. Fuck, so much I have done! Well, maybe not THAT much, but I got a .50 sniper and gathered the cash to fully upgrade it, among other things. :P Thanks anyway! I was hoping that Mr Yasti would have anything on this, but in the mean time I'll just try and redo all the shit.

Yeah, the save reverting seems like luck of the draw tbh. And still haven't seen a good fix for this since I posted almost last year (wow, long time ago wasn't expecting this to get necro'd lol.)

Haven't got here in 2.1 yet, been busy with Lost Alpha. I did put off doing the quest at first so maybe the trick is going there right away to prevent the body from despawning or getting dragged off.

Maybe so, I sure hope there will be a patch or update soon. So many bugs :P Like "The Hit" quest, one of the missions for Ecologists, among thousands more. Still a great mod though, addicting, they have put much thought into it but lots more work to be done.

Yeah, it's a bug fest, but thanks to these guys I'm doing my fourth playthrough in two months, and still not bored. I can't remember the last time I did two playthroughs of the same game in a row, let alone four. :D

As for the quest in question here, I don't think it's a matter of luck as is the case with some of the other bugs. If you go to the location right after you get the quest, the bodies will be there. If you take your sweet time though, the bodies will disappear after a certain amount of time the same way it happens with any other npcs that get killed.

Well, I played as Recon for a while instead. :P Now I did as you said, as my Sniper in Pripyat, and it worked. BUT, now the game crashes every time the conversation ends ("Let's go.") with Lt Rogovets who's locked in the fridge (or whatever it is) and banging on the door in the Kindergarten after destroying the source of the interference. This happened to anyone else?

Hmm, after reloading just before entering Kindergarten like 7 times, I got past the glitch. Annoying, but not game breaking. It's .50 cal time!

Funny, that fridge in kindergarten bug I hear so much about never happened to me, and I did that part four times total. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I go for the kindergarten as soon as I discover the bodies? Did you take a break in between? One thing's for sure, I hated the kindergarten's welcoming commitee. :D

No, I went straight there. But it worked eventually so... Buggy journey to the choppers too! Strelok and the other idiots keep getting stuck everywhere, so a whole bunch of reloads was necessary. :P

Yeah, the three poltergeists were a bitch. xD I made them taste my Camo F2000 grenade launcher!

no i tried several times, as i read that it can be random but to no avail

Guys you can easily look onto that in the forum; the way to solve it is lower your alife to like 50 or less.

It has to do with battle that happens in your alife range that mess things up.

It isn't random if you load the same people will be fighting though at a latter date they might not.

yeah thats not true ive change my alife to 10 then tried and it still crashed

It is better to change it before jumping in the hole and set alife to 50, cause with 10 the guy might be out of the sight range, not sure if you get a cutscene (cutscenes don't work if alife is to low). Else it is possible you have a nearby battle?
