My MISERY-inspired Airsoft weaponry Thread - MISERY mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

I've been meaning to post this up for a while now!

While playing way too much MISERY and thinking about getting back into Airsoft (all told I've been playing over the last 11 years now), I decided my theme for my new kit should be that of an, "American Stalker." I'll spare you all the details on my loadout (5 weeks later I'm still waiting on my patches to get here from the Ukraine! D:<) but my weapons are all set.

I would quickly like to say thank you to the entire MISERY team for creating such an inspiring and atmospheric world. Seriously, the MISERY environment is so very different from vanilla COP. Not quite sure how to describe it in words, but it's had enough of an effect on me that I do silly things like this.

First up is my KWA LM4 PTR, modified with a G&P "Jungle" M203 grenade launcher and several real-steel parts. The LM4 was designed for police and military training, and so accepts many real gun parts. Because it is a gas blowback rifle, there is no need for battery or motor storage inside the weapon so the grip is true to the real weapon's dimensions and the receiver does in fact break down into a lower containing the trigger group, a bolt carrier group, etc. This weapon was artifically aged" (attacked with sandpaper) to make it look like a nice Zone relic. My choice of this particular weapon was of course inspired by the M4A1 found in MISERY.

Next is my KWA TT-33 Tokarev, also attacked with some sandpaper and spraypaint. Considering how old TT-33s really are, and the likely condition of one ending up in a place such as the Zone, I thought it looked too weird when it appeared 100% new.

Welp, that's about it. You can bet I'll have these near at hand when MISERY 2.0 is released! I'm planning on hitting the Zone and doing whatever I can to not use any weapons but these for my whole playthrough.

One day I might upload some photographs of my gear, but as I said I'm still waiting on my patches and all of my stuff is still in "like new" condition. I need to roll around in the mud, soak it in water for a few weeks, and run it through a dryer full of gravel to make it look more authentic, I think. ;P

Leaf sight finally came in! Actually, I mean, it came in like sometime last week but I only just now got to taking photos with it mounted. MY RIFLE IS COMPLETE.

Nothing tells you that you're a crazy person better than looking over at your couch and seeing Airsoft guns, live ammunition, and other paramilitary gear still piled up on your couch because you wanted to share pictures of it on the internet. Which is to say nothing of the real firearms hanging off the back of my computer chair, on the desk in front of me, propped up in the corner of the room, and lying in the middle of the living room floor.

Whew. Sorry for the giant wall of photos. I forgot how much of a pain it is to throw pictures up on these forums. >_< I snagged this leaf sight for $25 (a brand new one with the QD RIS mount and the quadrant sight and all that other fancy junk will run you $250+). I think it's kind of funny that I opened it up and was like WOW THIS IS IN PERFECT CONDITION. Haha.

Hey vengeance is that a KWA tt-33? Oops never mind the text did not show up for me right away. Do you like the KWA tt-33? I am thinking about getting the KWA m226 a P226 clone.

KWA's stuff is legit. Long ago when I started playing Airsoft (when gas guns were just an expensive novelty; no good for actually playing), KWA was kind of a 'meh' brand. In the last few years, particularly after they established their U.S. branch in California, their quality control and overall product awesomeness has increased by a huge amount. My LM4 is my favorite Airsoft gun I've ever owned, and I've had quite a few.

Aaaaand this was an incredibly silly way to spend half an hour. Doubly so because if I could afford gas, I could totally drive down there and have my friend take an actual photo of me standing there, rather than (poorly) Photoshopping myself in. MISERY team, let me know if you want me to pull the logo out of this image. I'm not even sure why I put it on there, to be honest. -.o

AH, one of the many perks of being an American citizen. You can own almost any type of weapons. Assault rifles or otherwise. Oh how I do envy this perk that you have. Try getting a weapons while living in Russia (we have very few civilian guns) and the next thing you know is that FSB anti-terror units are lining up outside your apartment door.

Oh well I heard that Obama is messing with your constitution so the whole Second Amendment might become a bit of a headache for the citizens of the USA. This whole weapon control situation is so political. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Well I wish all Americans the best of luck keeping the right to bear arms such as your Second Amendment constitutes.

This is way late!!! Sorry about that. KWA makes probably the best gas blowback stuff around in my opinion. The TT-33, however, isn't that great. I primarily purchased it because it's the first TT-33 of any notable quality that any company has produced -- just had to have it! It's much too lightweight, the slide cycles quite slowly compared to KWA's other gas guns, and it only holds 10 BBs in the magazine (which I guess is technically realistic, but jeeze!). I dunno if you've made a purchase yet but I hope you're happy with it!

Yeah, the image thing on these forums is horribly frustrating and difficult to work with. D: That AK is BEAUTIFULLY weathered!!! How'd you manage that? I attacked my LM4 with sandpaper and, well... It looks like someone attacked it with sandpaper.

I have heard many very sad stories about the disarmament of the Russian people - and the reasons for and the results of it. I wanted to write a whole huge big thing here about my feelings on the matter, but I don't want to bore anyone. Thank you for your well-wishes, they really do mean a lot. Suffice to say, this issue is a very important one to me.

@infiniteMotion: Thanks Stalker, the best thing to is play with your gun and clean only the internals. Otherwise you can lay your gun on the concrete and pull it with a sling. Sounds rough, but a good gun can take this without greater damage.

Spetsnaz_Reaper, it is really sad when you live in a country that is constantly taking your freedoms away, and I am sorry that you have to live in a country that has already been disarmed. And I feel that my country is dying and that one day the government will finally crack down on us with all the firepower they have.

Once you give up your God given right to bear arms there is nothing left to stop them from taking more freedoms.
