The enemy of my enemy is my friend?

Well for the mutants it is certainly true, mutants are not always friendly to each other. I have to say I have been saved many times by mutants chasing off whatever is that want piece of me.

If there are something needs bit improvement I'd say it would be cat and mouse. The cats are way too quite and claw damage is higher than snork and dogs, when there are more than 5 at close encounter it's just too much. At night I am actually afraid to go out if I knew there are cats hang around, will change my mind and stay at bar to grab a drink instead. Also there are far too less rats we have in game. These things suppose to be breeding like crazy so if we see 10+ rats trolling should be common sight, also the rats I have seen in Pripyat underground and Stores, they don't attack at all.

If we can have much more rats spawn and make most of mutants passive/neutral to each other and everybody chasing large amount of rats and flesh, that'd leave much more challenge for the players. We will have more mutants to hunt, and more mutants will hunt us.8)

Thats so true. Fleshes and Boars have saved me plenty of times as they tend to draw the atention of dogs, cats and bloodsuckers alot better then yourself. Plus, its always good to watch over a group of mercenaries as they get distracted by a group of boars or whatever decides to take a swing at them. And I do agree that those pesky rats should be more common. I guess that cats took care of them. XD

However, I dont think that cats need changes. Stealth is pretty much their biggest perk. Without it they are nothing but ugly dogs with tumors on their faces. I especially find myself very lucky when I just happen to be looking at the exact direction in wich they are charging me, giving me time to strike them before they can get too close. However, there is one thing I would like to be added, and thats more cat parts. Cat tails arent very common, and they are kinda boring on their own. I would like some cat meat and fur aswell.

And finally, concerning the mutant neutral/hostil nature, I do think that dogs for instance shouldnt be neutral towards anything. The way I see it, dogs are neutral to speudogiants and I believe bloodscukers aswell "not sure about the last one". Shouldnt they be hostil towards everything, or are they tamed by other humanoid mutants.??

At least a bit warning system for the cats would help, like hiss or meow or purring or whatever the hell they want to do. Complete silent is scary, I don't even mind complete invisible turds like blood suckers since they make noise when approaching. Gives me at least half or 1 sec to react. When I hear the cats is always when I get hit. 3 good hits and I am goner. That's why I am afraid to go out at night because of them.

I'm scared of all mutants for this simple fact: They can instantly kill me by punting me into the air which for some reason instantly kills me. However that only happens if you attempt to jump away from them as they attack and they still manage to nab a hit on you,you go flying into the air and die instantly. (That includes ALL mutants).

What type of suit are you using?? :O

Even with the light overcoat, it still takes at least a couple of hits from a pseudodog or cat to kill you. Using a heavier combat suit will make dogs almost useless against you. The only mutants that can actually 1 hit kill you are pseudogiants and chimeras. But still, they are pretty big on their own, so.

I'm using the CS3A with a carbon steel plate. Even a cat can instantly kill me by scratching me once if I try to dodge away from it.

I noticed something similar to that in CoS, where if I was up on a narrow object and a mutant attacked from underneath, it would do a ton more damage and send me flying up into the air.

Haven't seen that in CoP though - but then I don't try to dodge mutants by jumping. I'd say your best bet would be to stop doing that for starters. Hopefully it hasn't set in as an instinctive reaction! Maybe sometimes you might successfully dodge an attack by jumping, but if the flipside of that is instadeath then it's not a safe tactic. CS3A + steel plate should normally reduce a lot of the damage a cat does, probably doing only 20-25% of max health in damage.

By now its become instinctive, and honestly I'm not sure if its saved my life or gotten me killed more due to this odd bug.
