Figured I'd share this incase anyone else would like it. I thought it would be a nice touch having a Misery logo appear when launching the game instead of the old game logo.

It's pretty easy to do, you just have to edit the file "Misery\bin\xrEngine.exe" with any PE editor, or simply use Resource Hacker. Open xrEngine.exe in Resource Hacker, then expand "Bitmap", expand "123" then right click "0" and choose "Replace Resource..."

Then a new dialogue will appear where you can choose "Select file with new bitmap" this will let you browse to and select the .bmp image you want to use. Select your file and click "Replace" then save the file. Just keep in mind you have to use a .bmp file and it should be the same size (in pixels, in this case 500x268) also don't use a huge file (in file size). Or you could just use this .bmp image so it looks like in the screenshot above En.file-upload.net

If you want to use a larger bmp image (in pixel size) you will probably have to edit the "Dialog" size or your image may be cropped or appear off center of the screen when displayed at launch.

Oh and as always it's a good idea to make a backup of any files you tinker with, even though Resource Hacker will automatically make a backup of the old file when you save the new file.

Edit, here's a screenshot of it launching with a larger logo image and the Dialog edited to the size of the image so it appears correctly.

You my friend, are a genius. I meant to say, thanks for the rather under rated tip you left in an unrelated thread regarding core usage and using task manager to enable multicore threading. It seems to have gone by largely unnoticed. I'm spreading the word wherever needed, all credit to Browser of course!

lol glad you like it htkblazer :)

Credit for the CPU affinity thing isn't mine though, old trick from when AMD started releasing dual core CPUs, sometimes also setting something to only 1 core got older things to work better when they didn't play nice with muticores.

Aw man you're full of little gems! I never thought of that! So many games that no longer work and I thought it was OS related!

*digs out Pharaoh and Carmageddon*
