Hi,

I'd like to know if I can still get the Man of Balance achievement and the Leader one in my playthrough.

Here's the situation :

- I've helped Uncle Yar before getting the Diplomat achievement, I'm already a friend of the Loners + a friend of the Stalkers (don't know if that influences smth)

Now I can't raise my reputation with the Freedom faction enough for them to accept Strider team without giving to Loki one of the PDA needed for the Man of Balance achievement.
Even by doing the following missions :
1. Magpie alias "Flint" ==> told Loki (Freedom faction) about him
2. Freedom faction guarding the scientists
3. Already helped Uncle Yar

Is there any other way to raise my rep with the freedom faction in order for Strider to join them?

I thought that you get the man of balance achievement by selling Dutys pda and other stuff to Owl and reporting magpie back to the guy at skadovsk.
Its not possible for them to accept Strider and therefore get the leader achievement and have him on your way to pripyat in that case.
However you can also set up some IED's in their camp and blow them to the mighty monolith. Or I think you can have them guard the Bunker after the Mercs are gone.

There is a cheat solution to get Leader after Man Of Balance if nothing else work. Starting from a save in which you have earned Man Of Balance:

  • close the game
  • edit gamedata/configs/creatures/game_relations.ltx with a text editor
  • set the relationship of the actor with freedom or duty to 1000 (see below)
  • start the game
  • talk with the faction about the Monolith and earn Leader by recruiting them
  • close the game
  • reset the relationship with freedom or duty to 0

What this does is basically grant a boost in your relationship with one of he faction just for that particular mission.For example, if I want to be friend with Freedom I can change the [communities_relations] part of the file game_relations.ltx from:

The line changed is the one that starts with freedom and now has value 1000 instead of 0.This works with Misery 2.1.1.
