Alright lads and lassies,

I'm sure among you are veterans of Misery (I'm generally a newb myself) and I couldn't find a thread on this issue/flavour of the mod. The topic is important NPCs who have died and how it affected your game (for instance NPC XYZ died and I had to do A, B and C to work around it). I'm talking actual workarounds as well as immersed reactions. Also, thread may or may not contain mild spoilers. I'll start off:

~ Noah died at some random point, had to do the plateau thing all by myself, trial and error style. Also, the Compass artifacts are a dream at this point.
~ Grouse literally vanished in front of my very eyes during his first mission, haven't found him since
~ Morgan went poof because I turned the mission down, had to spawn it in
~ Snag the bastard, I gave him a medkit and then with great pleasure emptied two pistol clips into him for making me run around like a headless fly
~ During the Pripyat tunnel mission I furiously defended my teammates and had to load more than a dozen times to keep them alive, I just like not being alone constantly.

The Noah problem is well documented in this forum (see "No Noah"). It remains an unsolved problem that has workarounds.

In general it's advised to save often, not only because of the possibility of getting killed, but also to be able to go back to a point before something significantly game-changing happened. If someone disappears before your eyes, or gets killed, you may want to reload to before that happened.

It's just part of the Misery. :flame:
