A few days ago, I was doing the bloodsucker mission, and at the part where me and Grouse were entering the Ventilation Complex a whole bunch of bloodsuckers came rushing into the basement after us. I'm talking about 12-18 bloodsuckers at the same time. Fortunately, they were focused on Grouse - who I believe has been set to be immune to rupture damage - and I managed to pick them all off.

I suppose this has to do with the big groups of mutants that spawn through alife and the huge eye sight that they have.

Spawns can get pretty rediculous sometimes,yeah.I once had a Pseudogiant spawn in the complex just as soon as we finished off the two bloodsuckers in the bottom of the complex.Took me 6-10 tries before I could kill the Pseudogiant before it went and killed Grouse.

The Alife system can be slightly chaotic... if youre determined to do EVERY quest and EVERY mission, a good thing to do is activate the dev console and enable ingame spawner.

with 2.1.1 the devs left the spawn meshes and calculators in, so spawn locations, targets, compositions, respawn times and strengths can be actively tracked and located with PDA... im not sure if it'll help, but ive found it a lot of fun for tracking hunting targets around.

Best darn thing about A-life comrade.

Just last night I was in zaton at the tree area anomaly. I and 3 duty got rushed by 9 dogs, 2 pseudo dogs, 3 burrers and 4 bloodsuckers...to which we all attacked eachother and atleast half of which ate the other as I laughed myself silly on that crate XD

I usually clear the ventilation centre before going to the point where grouse you have to look by the anomaly (this is during the quest), makes for a boring walk with grouse when he call you, but it is the safest. Also I never gass the sons of bitches just get the cannister hook it up and go down and frags the bitches but I'm just like killing mutties and not some wackjob that likes to gas them. ;)

Avoid using autosaves, use hard saves only.

Logs are located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\logs\xray_....log"

For loots I always choice to fight them. Enough ammo and jump on top of the shelf inside their sleeping chamber will make it easy work. If I got enough money then it's landmine + LED.

I do the same thing. Works like a charm. I let Grouse go on ahead and I stay behind and kill em' all.

I never got on the shelf idea but it sounds like a better option

My trick was usually lob 2 grenades from just outside the door down the passageway grouse opened and rush back and stand behind the toppled over table (where they can't reach you) in the room with the dead stalkers and usually flung grenades and shot them as they rushed by, sometimes stepping out to lure them in and step back.

Guess you trick is similar to pripyat freeplay near the bookstore towards the centre where you can sit on the slides and shoot the bloodsucker as the pounce on it. Also enjoy sitting in the stairs going down they also act as barrier for mutties, though on rare cases dogs jump in but they always try to run out again.
