"For everyone with the CTD's and XRay crashes. I was experiencing them as well. I did everything I could to troubleshoot the issue but nothing worked. What I did to make it run like a dream was to UN-INSTALL everything. Because I have modded CoP before I couldn't even use the uninstaller and had to use Revo Uninstaller. This removed all traces of the Mods and Cop from the registry as well. The problem was that the previous mods left behind little incompatible traces that conflicted with XRay. I hope this helps."

To clarify on some things...

"Uninstalling" means EVERYTHING. He used Revo Uninstaller, which I can't elaborate on how it works, having never used it. What I did was use the IOBit Uninstaller that came with Advanced System Care. It uninstalled the game, and found quite a few files [Read; Upwards of 4,000] in locations I'd never have suspected, as well as 4 or 5 entries in the Registry.

I also had to go into my directory [directory being where ever you installed the game to, mine was C:/ Program Files/bitComposer games] and delete the folder "bitComposer Games" and the contents inside that were left. Then I restarted my computer, re-installed Call of Pripyat, Misery and Patch 2. Finally, it works like a charm for me. A laggy, buggy charm, but a charm nontheless.

Another clarification; I can't speak for how the uninstallation process works for the Steam version, as I don't have it. I assume it would work the same way as long as you use a similar uninstaller, but I make no promises.

My computer is in no way built do deal with this game or this mod, and here are my specs, to (hopefully) prove that it's not necessarily your computer causing the problems:

Intel Pentium IV @2.8GHz (That's single-core, BTW)
2GB of DDR RAM @333MHz (4x512 mb DIMMs)
PNY GeForce 8400 GS (PCI Bus)
and a 32-bit copy of Windows XP + Service Pack 3

I'm getting 25~ FPS with an FoV of 75 through the installer, on the lowest-possible settings, but strangely enough, I'm not crashing anymore after loading my saves.

I haven't tried saving while having a companion, nor would I recommend trying to do so.

If I should clarify on any points, or if anyone has any questions, don't be scared to ask. I'll answer to the best of my abilites.

Good luck, and happy hunting.
