Situation Outbreak is an Orange Box mod about the impending zombie apocalypse. Armed with nothing but a 9mm and a pair of brass knuckles, you must do whatever it takes to survive against the thousands of zombies that used to be your friends and neighbors. The cost of failure is nothing less than your free will. There are no heroes. No single person can save the world and there are not enough bullets to go around. The only thing left to do is to kill the damned, hoping that you don’t end up like them.

In the next release of Situation Outbreak, there will be a new zombie class system for the Infection and Escape gamemodes. This image shows off one just one of the three classes: the stalker. Previews of the rest are still to come. =)

i think what he meant was can the player make the stalker scream?
it could make the zombies like 2% stronger for 30secs and humans 3% slower and take 5% more damage for 20 secs.

having a slight buff to the scream can be nice.

Perhaps for another zombie class, because this one already has a special attack/effect.

Obviously. No one said it was a new model, I just hacked on a meat hook and tied it to HL2DM's player animations. This will have to do for now until our modeling and texturing team returns from their other projects.

it's your opinion, not my!

i prefer total conversion like zps than a mod like zombie mod on cs (where you see a animation and zombie from hl2 and other game)

http://media.photobucket.com/image/zombie%20mod%20css/HCU/Mods/Zombie%20Horde/42.jpg

take you choice (for the immersion the total conversion is the best)!

So you'd rather play a repetitive modification like ZPS or a modification that isn't even out yet like No More Room in Hell than Situation Outbreak which has six (soon to be seven) completely different gamemodes just because it isn't a total conversion? Your logic is a bit screwy, my friend. Custom content isn't everything, you know.

you think S:O is repetitive? every multiplayer game which has the same objective every time is repetitive, we have more game modes then mods have maps lol

More game modes does not exactly mean more original. Especially when the game modes have been seen before.

I have nothing against this mod, just people who make comments with little to no thought behind them.

I understand your point, however Harrison is right; compared to a mod that only has one very repetitive gamemode, a mod with more gamemodes - original or not - certainly helps to make things more fun. My claim is entirely valid under these circumstances.

Do your homework zps has 4 game modes not one. And personally I find this game more repetitive then almost any other game I've played.

Sitting in one place killing zombie is repetitive if you ask me.

Also this game isn't very original. It feels more as if you took a bunch of ideas from different games and mashed them into a really bad version of them

If SO's gamemodes are repetative because it involves "sitting in one place killing zombie" (which isn't even true by the way, as evidenced by the Objective and Escape gamemodes), then ZPS's must be as well because you do just about the same thing.

Oh, and I almost cried laughing when you called SO unoriginal. Are you saying ZPS is original? Classic infection gameplay has been around since HL1. How about you do your homework.

ok cool =) Mmm new zombies... like some of ZM ? (it'just to make me an idea) or special zombies like L4D ? and by the way you can choose zombie? (and survivor models =p)

jamespizzurro Dec 13 2009, 9:28am replied:

To help you understand, it's more like CS:S ZM where players are given a zombie class when they spawn. The objective is still the same as it has always been which is to infect all the survivors with your claws, this just adds a new level of fun. Player zombies will not be able to choose their class as this would probably lead to class spam. Instead, a random class is assigned to you when you spawn as a zombie.

Naw, we figured the Infection gamemode really needed a cleanup, so we're just going to add our zombie class functionality and improved knockback system for the next release. A new gamemode wouldn't make too much sense when we already have one that pretty much works with some minor problems here and there. We hope to fix those problems with these two rather large changes.

Funny you should say that, it is! When you're a stalker, you have meat hook instead of zombie claws. In fact, each zombie class has its own unique set of claws and/or weapon. ^_^
