As seen by the latest two pictures of the Viscount, it should be known by now that I'm tinkering and toying around with Rebellion, which SoGE will eventually port over to. With this tinkering has come an important facet of knowledge, that both frigates and capital ships can now support up to 5 weapons slots. This is something we, and other Sins modders, have been wanting for ages, and in our case, will allow us to expand and re-do several ships' armaments. A discussion on how to proceed with this is currently ongoing in the SoGE forums; your input and participation is encouraged. Furthermore, I would like to announce that the next full, stand-alone, release of SoGE will be in late April or early May. It will most likely be the last complete non-Rebellion release. Due to how it's set up, will allow players to choose which races they wish to play with before launching the game, and by taking off even a single race, Sins' RAM usage is reduced.
Weapons Discussion and the Next Full Release
Weapon re-balancing is currently being discussed on the SoGE forums; your input and participation is encouraged. Also, the next full stand-alone release of SoGE will be late April or early May.

i love that last part!
reminds me of how sins of the fallen is set up
That's where I got the idea from. To their credit, ZombieRus/myfist0/others found out something brilliant when they got this working. Allows for an endless amount of races, and better RAM usage.
It is indeed brilliant!
So with this added space do you think you'll be adding in any more races
No, because the races as is are unfinished, the Vong in particular are incomplete at best. Secondly, this RAM reduction was necessary because SoGE's resource usage was at the breaking point; post 2.1 beta additions were causing mid-game minidumps.
Didnt really get any minidumps but then again i wasnt using the moddb downloads as i had beta access
Btw what have to the svn beta?
Its not updating
I got a lot of minidump errors with this mod only :/ hope that this helps! Great mod btw!
SVN server is current down due to server migration; also you'll need to re-checkout the beta's multiple folders once it's back up anyways noing.
That doesn't help at all SCJ, though the split up I mentioned at the end of the article should help mitigate them, if they're the type of MD I'm thinking of.
Do you know when it will be back up?
Unfortunately, I have no idea. :/
