Wonderful work on all the models, and I love how this power plant calls back to older generators in Red Alert (I think that's the game).

Yes indeed, it was heavily inspired by the Advanced Powerplant from Red Alert 1, and it wont be the last structure to be like that either. =)

512x512 but it gets compressed to 256x256 for the game.

Glad you gave the GLA a benefit from this too! Pretty original concept right there.

Hmm, it could be useful to rush-cap one of these things with a dozer too and then build a some nice defenses next to it.

@GooberTrooper GLA have always had a stucture build speed bonus from having postive power levels in vanilla ZH.

What exactly does the Tech Radio station do? I don't ever remember those things having much effect.

Actualy it's not a gla thing at all. The game is coded that if you have no power/low power you build everything slower. Basicly both usa and china would have the same handicap if they had low power. So this powerplant isn't like a bost for gla, it just gives them the same build speed as the other factions that use power.

In shockwave radiostation had 2 abilities - 1. was to reveal all enemy units on the map for a small period of time, and second was an abillity that had only a multiplayer application.

Awesome RA1-ish Power Plant! I love seeing old relics from decades ago; So nostalgic! :D

One suggestion: Perhaps you could have a couple of different models of power plants?
For example, in addition to this old-school coal-plant, you could also have a more modern type, such as a solar-power station like the 3-piece set in Tiberian Sun (Left panel, transformer, right panel).

As a reaction to the devastating GLA attacks on vulnerable infrastructure, many countries have moved away from nuclear energy. Most prominently, the nations of Europe have started their visionary Solaris project. In order to bridge the gap until its completion by 2040, many conventional but highly efficient power plants utilising fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas were constructed, triggering the Russian resource boom of the late 2020s. In-game, these civilian Power Plants provide the player with additional power units upon capture, allowing for risky but potentially rewarding early game build orders that postpone the construction of one's own power plants. As before, the GLA does not require any electricity to operate, but they too should be greatly interested in capturing these facilities, for they provide them with an increase in unit production speed.

On top of these new additions, 1.7 will also feature all the classic tech structures that were introduced in Shockwave, including the Repair Pad, Radio Station, Airport, MG and Flak Bunker as well as the mighty War Fortress.
