Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

As to those "armored skirts" in description. Are you going to make this upgrade possible for some more ECA units (like ERA for Russia for example)?

Actually this is supposed to be General Wolfgang's Combat IFV as an upgrade exclusive to him.

Reminds me of the Singapore Bronco and the Swedish Bandvagn 206...
Is it based off the Bandvagn 206 ?

Yeah, it looks like a Swedish APC I seen in a book once. Wonder what the Leopard will look like since this is an improvement on a early model. And will the ECA have an unique infantry, besides it hero or its rifle and anti-tank infantry.

Interesting, dual body designs are not often found, especially in modern day warfare. However the model has been constructed extremly well, and the texture is absolutly perfect. A job well done. The only thing I'm not too sure about is the machine gun. From my view it looks trinagular, surely a few more pollies could of have been spent rounding it of better? Also, ingame will there be someone manning it ot not?

Actually, it's meant to be like that, and it's technically hexagonal as there are six edges defining that machine gun's 'barrel'. We don't have it in-game yet, but it will likely not have a guy manning the gun.

Also, this is the CPC version, which is exclusive for General Wolfgang, the APC version is the one that is likely to be included in the vanilla ECA faction. (The APC version will use the updated textures that this one has, the only diff is that it won't have a gun or those armor skirts)

I understand, is there any technial reason why you can't put a man, or is it personal choice? Personaly I think it would look a great deal better with a man.

A lot of the ECA units such as this one will get that machinegun in them somewhere, once manned you will see a soldier manning it :)

Other units such as the Leopard Tank (which is being revised) and the Claymore Artillery unit get these as well.

Don't modern military vehicles now use machineguns equiped with camera which can be remote controlled from inside of the vehicle?

I feel like there are many modern EU ifv that could of been choosen for the game. Something a little more specalized and with more fire power than just the standard apc with a machine gun.

does that mean that also not all rusian generals will be able to upgrade tanks with ERA? because if not, than also every ECA general should be able to have this upgrade =/ its kinda the same dont you think

Description

The European Lynx APC is the workhorse of ECA`s infantry division. Despite its outlandish design, it’s very reliable and offers the best possible protection for the troops inside something essential in Europe`s terrain where ECA supply lines and reinforcements are prone to be ambushed by Russian gunships. The Lynx brigades had suffered heavy losses in the battlefield against the heavy shelling and armour piercing weaponry deployed by the Russian Army. As a cheap modification, armour skirts were installed on the sides to allow for greater protection against incoming projectiles. Although the plating isn't the best the ECA has to offer, it is the cheapest and ensures the Lynx APC can continue to serve as an inexpensive infantry carrier of the ECA.
