Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

My pants just got sticky...as did my brain.
And I think ECA uniforms might be changing to a bit more...woodlandy camo soon as well.

just curious, will this replace the hokum in 1.85 or is it going to be a new helicopter for 1.85?

The Hellion replaces the Hokum. We did this because the Hokum model was a legacy model from the pre-SWR days and we want to have full copyright over our future content. So instead of re-modelling the same Hokum again, we went for a fictionalised replacement. It's function remains largely the same except for the addition of thermobaric rocket pods, which you unlock via upgrade alongside the thermobaric bombs for the Hunchback.

It is, still, a newer aircraft. A more powerful engine and rotors are probably a given.

While saying its nearly the same, it has twice of Hokum's firepower. It has two 30mm aurocannons, Hokum had just one, no?

And this is something what I really like on RotR. That you stick with some real-life things, like the NATO naming system as seen here and Hunchback :) Maybe just the Paladin being far modernized Abrams... Still, great :)

@ V.Metalic...

getting a similar additional weapon doesn't mean 2x firepower...
each auto-cannon could get 1/2 of the Hokum's original auto-cannon's firepower...
but that's just my opinion...
the devs could have made those additional auto-cannons each have the same firepower as the Hokum's...
but in that case, the missiles and the rocket launcher would be kinda useless...
so i think it's no...

couldn't post a reply so i just commented...
and btw...
i looked at the latest render of the hokum and i do think it has 2 auto-cannons...

But IRL Hokum has only one 30-mm 2A42 autocannon.
And most probably Hellion has two of them as 2A42 is unified with most vehicles, as BTR-90, BMP 2&3, BMD 2&3 and Mi-28 both mount 2A42.

Because fictional advanced gunship is moar cool that the good old Ka-52...
Heck, its pretty much the same old signature Kamov design.

Also, is the cannon DPS the same despite of twice the dakka?

Ka-52 is the same Ka-50, only two-seater, its designation is "Hokum-B".

Description

The Ka-68 was first sighted by a joint contingent of British and American forces in northern Germany in January 2049. Labled the 'Hellion' by the Western soldiers in a brief revival of the old NATO reporting name system, the new gunship appeared to be a successor to the Ka-50 'Hokum'. Chieftly fielded by the helicopter detachments of the Russian Air-Landing Forces, its function and combat performance appeared largely similar however unlike its predecessor, the Hellion can also be equipped with a new type of unguided 80mm rocket which contains a thermobaric charge. This allows the new helicopter to lay down a devastating barrage of incendiary rockets alongside its standard armament of Vikhr anti-tank missiles and two semi-rigid 30mm cannons.
