Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
Alternatively, Fortifications can be refitted into Ammunition Stockpiles, sacrificing their fire ports for an arsenal of munitions which provide adjacent units and defences with increased firepower. Be warned however that these ammo dumps will explode violently upon destruction.

I wonder if this could be used as a (kind of) minefield.
Whole bunch of empty stockpiles in front of your main line; Either the enemy wastes time removing them or end up between a rock and a...volatile place once the artillery kicks in.
maybe so, but it would be slow, hard and kind of expensive to do.
would love to see people pulling it off though.

I'm not sure why, but I've never been a huge fan of crowding my units round something that has low hp and a tendency to explode violently.
