Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Since lasers need some form of cooling at that scale, I guess you're right!

Right, that's no avanger that's a giant freezeray.
In combination with the ice cream truck it's very delicious.

(also that part in the front is a whipped cream dispenser.)

That's one thing I always find odd about those laser defence system:

The way a paladin or avenger could bash away (like it had a baseball bat) all those missiles, including the sturdy un-guided scud in a single zap!
It would at best destroy enemy missiles in flight or disrupt their trajectory. The scud would still land or destroyed at a low chance.

Just my thoughts, apologise for sucky english.

Description

First fielded in the early 1990s, the M1097 Avenger was conceived as a light-weight, short-range anti-air system based on a modified Humvee. However, the missiles that acted as the vehicle's primary armament for almost three decades started to show their age in the later stages of the Global War on Terror, often proving wholly inadequate when it came to defeating the infamous Scud missiles launched by the GLA. It was at this time when General Gregory 'Pinpoint' Townes, the head of the Army's R&D branch for laser technologies, came up with a quick and efficient solution in the form of the 'Avenger-L', which replaced the aging missile system with a powerful high-energy laser, supported by a rangefinder and protected by a miniature version of the same point-defence lasers that were successfully introduced by the M1A4 Paladin tank. The new platform proved to be effective in combat and what was initially meant to be an interim solution until the full-scale deployment of dedicated tactical lasers quickly became a mainstay weapon system of the US military which received further performance upgrades as the years went by.
