The Empire has fallen and a New Republic is born out of the conflict. But in the ashes of civil war, yet another life stirs...
This B variant of the AAC Hovertank has a few modifications not seen on the original, although the weapons systems and defensive capabilities are largely similar.
Rendered in Photoshop...so this is NOT final quality.
You know...it almost looks cel-shaded. That'd be an interesting look for a Star Wars game.
Yeah, the Photoshop rendering engine does make it look cell-shaded. I'm personally not a fan of that style though...
So, no need to worry about a sudden art shift, then?
Haha...no. I'm not going to go all Zelda: Windwaker on you.
Whew! Had me worried for a bit!
Does the body look long-ish because of photoshop? Or did you design it like that?
Does look pretty cool, though. Does it serve a similar role to the 2-M tank? Or is it going to be an anti-aircraft vehicle or something?
If this works anything like it does in BFII, its an anti-everything vehicle.
Right. Its primarily anti-air but it can be used against just about anything. The chassis is longer intentionally... Its just a bit of artistic license, as with a few other things. It will fall somewhere between the t2b and t4b tanks...so a medium tank.
Why wasn't the AAC-2 upgraded instead? It seemed to be the superior model.
To be honest, I didn't even know there was a Mk2 variant until you mentioned it. But since the Mk1 and Mk2 look identical, it's really a minute detail to say that this is the AAC-2b...
All in a day's work to make my favorite mod even that 000000000.1% better.
Battlefront 2 polis massa. So much fun,
I just realized this thing basicly looks like a tankified snowspeeder with the harpoon replaced by a huge missile launcher. :D
It draws on a lot of SW designs, really. There are elements of the speeder, X-wing, T-wing, and some others. Some original ideas though too.
nice epic unit for the alliance vanguard tyvm
LOL!
Just LOL? Is that a good laugh or are you disappointed with the unit?
The unit was so impressively done that he is in a state of total euphoria and can't do anything but laugh.
That's my guess anyways.
You REALLY should rerender this. I love showing off my own models and textures, and I don't understand why you're satisfied with this way of showcasing your obviously high quality content. It looks completely chell shaded this way even though that's totally not the style you're going for.
Probably does it so that when he shows it off in-game we're all even more surprised at how high quality it really is.
I do it for the sake of posting an update and keeping people interested in the mod. If you feel like that's counterproductive, than perhaps I will just wait until content is in-game.
I actually don't think you'll have much trouble keeping people interested in the mod, given the overall high quality of updates.
Don't get me wrong, I like updates, but if you can render it in photoshop you can render it in the .alo viewer, which I think will make it look better.
Not always... I do a lot of mod work on my lunch breaks at work and I don't have access to modding tools there; only Photoshop. I usually model and unwrap a mesh at home, then take the unwrapped OBJ file to work with me and import into Photoshop to texture and shoot off a quick render.
That explains that. Pretty nice you can do that on a lunch break, though wouldn't you want some time to relax in between work? Good guy farseer, always working... ;)
