It's clearly stated in the news and has been answered repeatedly in the comments section about when the next version will be released, but people keep asking because they don't read. So, I decided to post things more prominently.

People seriously underestimate how much work goes into putting together a mod such as this.

We appreciate very much that people are interested in the mod, but please have some understanding that this is not an overnight thing and it takes time to test things out and make sure everything is up to spec for a release.

i understand that this is a huge project and that it is not in any way your job to make this mod. that said i have a huge respect for you guys. what this mod is turning into is truely impressive and i wish you luck with finishing the next update.

i really like that this page is updated as often as it is. i keep refreshing this page all day to see if there is any news and every time there is, iam stunned to see that you guys made something that is gonna make the game even better.

the big game companyes should really take note of you guys. the level of skill and dedication you show by making this mod is something few people have.

I don't mind answering a few people that cant read LOL, There is no release date at the moment because of the following reasons

1. Waiting on MadFaces GUI tool for the research tree and im not sure how long i will take to mod the tree to a layout that fits.

2. Jazz our modeller is creating a few new units a week which take time to script and set up for use in game.

Theres more than a few big jobs left to do also i would like a Tech widget up before release but we cant seem to find any UI modders willing to help.

uhh tech widget sounds nice.. what ever it is .. but sucks that you cant find any ui modders. i wish i could help but i only have experience making sound/music/2d art

Just like to add to what OverRated mentioned regarding my gui tool for the research tree. The layout of the gui is complete and all the functionality implemented. You can save and load your own research tree layouts, drag and drop the various units, structures, and upgrades from an inventory onto the grid, and you can move the items on the grid around. You also have direct access to modify all the data pertaining to the items and have the gui generate for you the final lua files that the engine will read.

That said, I expanded the possible number of research items from GPG's default 10x10 to 20x20, i.e., a 4-fold increase in the number of items that can appear on one tree (100 -> 400). Now, there are 5 trees per faction (Land, Air, Naval, Structures, ACU) and 3 factions. Therefore, there are a total of 400 x 5 x 3 = 6000 grid cells to consider.

Given that the interface is gui-based and has to be arranged manually in the editor, I have to manually name each grid cell and implement the necessary code for each grid cell to allow it to accept inventory items. Despite that I have written the base code that allows this functionality, it is more than just a cut+paste job since each grid cell still needs to be updated with its own code so that it specifically corresponds to that particular grid cell. This is the price that has to be paid if the gui is to have its own file format to be able to save and load research tree layout files.

ilovednb: what kind of music can you make? What software do you use? I've been playing around with some synth stuff to incorporate new music into the mod in the very distant future.

well there is no electronic music style that i can't make. i can also to some degree make none electronic music (jazz,rock,latin) i specialize in drum and bass music though

i mostly use fl studio. i have a lot of plugins (including massive and full ni komplete pack) i also have a huge libary of royality free samples that can be modified for whatever i need them for so often insted of using a softsynth i use fl studio to make a new instrument out of modyfied samples.

ok just made a quick demo of what i could do for Illuminate i made it trance like as you asked .. it is in no way finnished but it give a good idea of what some parts might sound like
