The name is very fitting, but seriously guys, I've lost track of all the Cybran experimentals. I'm not complaining, but how many are you planning to have?
what exactly do you want to hear man ? the exact number of the experimentals we might model ? :S
What I said is that, IF you think that we are only making Cybran xps, then wait for the other factions :) !
maybe instead of having different tech units, you could have t1 units simply upgrade into higher tech, and on and on until they eventually become different experimentals. that would make it so no units become useless, they just get upgraded through experience. for example, the cybran loyalist coming back from battle gets xp, and with that xp, can run into a factory to get upgraded into something bigger, and so on until it finally becomes that huge cybran xp. that would make it so actually having an experimental is a much bigger feat then just having a lot of recources. though upgrades would use recources too. this would make it so you actually give a damn about the units you send into battle, make it like real war, the more people that come back from an attack, and the more they have killed, the better. just an idea.
I'm not complaining about the experimentals, I think their all awesome personally. I'm just curious about how many you guys will have for each faction.
I say Replace a Standard T1 unit and keep this Zurgling like 'Chimera' as a Swarm tactic unique to the Cybran Nation. This will start to give each faction their own playing style instead of every side has arty, tank, missile vehicles etc.
or that hellhound from warcraft. also, i think you should check out the voidwalkers from warcraft 3. i think WOW ruined the voidwalkers, WC 3 makes them look evil as ****. id like to see a hovering cybran unit, and this would be the best thing to model from. Google.com
i like this one even better now looks extremely epic i kinda agree that a "zerg rush" unit could be cool. but with all the weapons it has it is armed enougt to be a xp
ya. same thing im thinkin. hard to choose whether to keep it a...heeeeeey you could simply make the two cannons upgrades! then it could rightfully be a t3 unit.
the unit is an experimental, it has a huge payload, and it is high poly-ed :)
if we have time later on, we might implement something similar for a T2-3 unit, but this is far from sure...
besides, I would not imagine a detailed model like that being as small as a T3 unit ! :P
under-detailing reminds me of the megalith 2. i liked how the original megalith could create t3 units, but it was so damn tall it made me think it could almost build a damn monkeylord. that would be cool if you could make a mobile gantry.
btw, will any unit in the cybran nation fire lightning as a weapon? i imagine the cybran t3 reactors being able to fire lightning out the top to curve and hit an enemy like a last ditch attempt to defende a base. *imagines all the reactors funneling into one big attack, everything in the base loses power, and the bolt of lighting they make arcs across the base and hits the incoming aeon t5 xp, and totally obliterates it. sort of a cinematic insta-kill attack. of course, the fact that it drains the energy from everything limits when you actually want to use it.
i really wish fps and tps games would be as badass as this. im thinking, you could select a unit, and have different tracking views. like from the ground looking up to show how big the unit really is, or from behind it to see what its really like to be that unit.
Holy **** Are those Kraken Lasers I see there? Been waiting to see one of those on a model, love the design btw; chimera seems like an overused name for units but in this case it is completely justified due to the model in question.
Now THIS is what I'm talking about !
HOLY CRAP!
my favorite myth. i like this more than my bf. ;)
I like it more than your bf too. ;)

wait till you see the other faction ones ^^
That really doesn't answer my question man.
does it matter how many they make.. i say the more the merrier.
after all. a mod is meant to modify or add to an aplication.

neither am i. i think theres already a game out thats like the idea, so nvm. btw, you guys gonna make a scroll bar for the unit palett?
looks like zergling from starcraft :)
but nice

Anyone else agree? :)
A lighter version (and of course less polied XD ) could be produced to become its little brother, at T1 or T2 :)
Brilliant! XD

Google.com
it would be better if its a t3 unit not an experimental
Second that.
agreed.
fourth that
i like this one even better now looks extremely epic i kinda agree that a "zerg rush" unit could be cool. but with all the weapons it has it is armed enougt to be a xp
exactly... :)

you reminded me the good ol' Tesla Coil :P
pretty much what im thinkin, cept coming from energy generators.
Boss, 'nuff said

Stop with all the awesome models or my head will explode!!!
What types of weapons are they cause cybran has enough microwave lasers
You can never have ENOUGH of Microwave lasers =p
oh yes you can..
nope you can't hehe
Holy **** Are those Kraken Lasers I see there? Been waiting to see one of those on a model, love the design btw; chimera seems like an overused name for units but in this case it is completely justified due to the model in question.
i think you should scrap the four arm things. except for that its nice
yeah. they look better suited for a serpent type unit. like a snake. id like to see what a cybran hydra would turn out to be.
I was working on something like that...but never finished it :S
And she runs like a dog? It would be very great)))
