An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.

Problems with the Paradox Launcher | Locked | |

Right, to start off with, YES, I did put this on the bug report thread, but haven't had a reply after waiting several days. I have a massive bug with the Paradox launcher, when I try to use it it starts, loads for a couple of seconds, then stops instantly for no reason. I have tried running it as an admin, and launching it from the file's application, but both have the same problem. Has anyone else noticed this, and does anyone have a solution? Technical Information: Windows Vista, 32 bit, copy was bought via Steam. Normal Red Alert 3 works fine, its just Paradox for some reason. EDIT: Almost forgot: I used my Steam account to download RA3 on another computer and installed Paradox on that. It has the same problem, so it's not just my computer. The second computer was Windows 7 64 bit. |

Were you able to play paradox before and did this problem just suddenly appear or were you not able to play paradox ever? |

Always been there, it seems random when it works or not. Paradox can work when it works, but the launcher has only worked about 4 or 5 times over a week of attempted fixes, with about 80 or so tries, perhaps more. (by 80 or so, I mean 80 attempts at the launcher, not 80 different fixes) |

try reinstalling RA3 -- >.< |

Like I said, I installed it on two computers, to test if that was the case, and the problem persisted, so its unlikely to be that. I'll probably try uninstalling it on one computer next if nothing here works. |

Just don't use the Paradox launcer, it's broken, and doesn't even work on some computers. Install the mod manually by putting a .big file and .skudef file in this folder: C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\My Documents\Red Alert 3\Mods play the mod by opeing the RA3 control center, press the mod tab and launch it. |

have you got the latest patch? 1.12 I think it was... well actually if you could play normal RA3 online it means you already have the patch Yea, also do what griffinZ says. Then you launch normal RA3 click on "Game Browser" and instead of "Replays" go to "Mods" and you should see Paradox Edited by: ~miragetankrules~ |

I am having what seems to be the same issue, I am running Windows 7 and got my version of RA3 on steam. I have be able to pull up the command center but when I loud the Paradox mod it just shuts down like nothing happened. |

Found another solution to the problem, you have to: 1) Manually quit Steam You must do this EVERY TIME you want to launch Paradox, so its more convenient to leave it open if possible. Incidentally, for some reason, I am unable to bring up RA3 command center. How do you do this manually? |

add -ui behind the link -- >.< |
||
Nov 26 2010 Anchor | ||
Through renaming the file extension, or is there a direct link? Tried using the RUN command; didn't work, even after adding -ui it just brought up the file location. |
||
|

Create a desktop shortcut to RA3 Then right click, click on properties, then you will see target location. Add -ui behind it like so "C:/blah/blah/Red Alert 3" -ui -- >.< |

I have extracted my files for Paradox to the Mods folder as directed ooked in the game browser under Mods, nothing there |
||
|

There should only be one file (for each mod) in the RA3 mod folder BUT it should contain one .big one .txt and one skudef. |

You're sure you have 1.12? If not, instead of game browser, you will have replay browser, and need to update. Edited by: g.a |

i have definitely got "Mods" tab in the Game Browser choice!!! I have extracted bothParadox releases 0.91 and 0.92 but nothing appears in the mods tab!!! why isthat? Also i understand that you have to extract them to the mods folderwhich is located in AppData/Roaming/RedAlert3. Which files do I need o extract there? |
||
|
Feb 19 2011 Anchor | |
oh no you should not put it there. C:\Documents and Settings\your name\My Documents\Red Alert 3\Mods the above location is the correct |
||

TRIED THAT, AM USING WINDOWS 7 |

Appdate is still wrong. it should be with your personal documents. Thats it. |
||
Feb 19 2011 Anchor | ||
it should be in your my documents, if you can't find it then create a new folder |
||
Feb 20 2011 Anchor | ||
Most people are. Are you sure you extracted the file? Also, do not extract both releases into the same folder, you do not need both releases. Edited by: g.a |
