An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.

Ok I've been thinking about this for a while. Basically im gonna start this game in the wiki or on this thread (or both). For simplicity sake, Strategic Command will mainly be focusing on military action.

Strategic Command is a game played by 8 sides, namely the 8 paradox factions. Allied Nations, Confederates, Soviet Union, Empire of the Rising Sun, Order of the Talon, Atomic Kingdom of China, Mediterrainian Syndicate and Electrical Protectorate.

Objective
Each faction will be given 3 main objectives, these objectives may or may not be canon. The game will last until there is one survivor or 3 factions have achieved all of their main objectives. Each main objective achieved will award the faction 10 points. Each main objective not achieved will cost the faction 10 points. There will also be bonus objectives. Each bonus objective awards the faction a certain number of points. Failing to achieve the bonus objective will not result in a loss of points.

Objective of the game is to either be the solo survivor or to have the most number of points among the people left standing. Each faction will not know each other's objectives. They may choose to disclose this information if they wish to do so.

Starting the game
Each faction will also start with a predetermined army, a predetermined economy, production capability and land mass. The player may then choose to place their army in their land mass in any form they choose. Depending on the faction, they may, or may not, know about each other's army, economy, production capability, etc at the beginning of the game. For instance, the land mass of the EP may be unknown to most factions.

Money Matters
Money is part and parcel of every country's economy. A faction may choose to pour money into the following sectors, Army, Intelligence, Defence, Research, Diplomacy, Economy and Strategic Weaponary. An increase in resources will result in advances in that sector.

Army
A nation's army is his primary offensive weapon. An army will require a set upkeep, and each new unit will increase the upkeep. A strong army is necessary to survive, but a strong army can also serve as a magnet to draw your enemies together in an attempt to defeat you. Money spent into army can be divided into Unit Production, Army upkeep and Increase in productivity. Unit production is pretty straight forward, you spend money to build units. Increasing productivity simply increases the number of units you can produce in a set period of time.

Intelligence
Intelligence is probably the second most important factor in the game. How big is my opponent's army? How much technology does he have? What is his force composition? Does he have strategic weapons? Such intelligence could change the course of the game. Money spent in intelligence increases the chance of sucessful intelligence gathering. It also increases the likelihood of detecting something that you did not expect, (such as a build up for an attack). You can choose which factions to focus your intelligence on.

Defence
Defence comprises of many areas. Money poured into defence can be split into two areas. Defensive emplacements and Counter Intelligence. Defensive emplacements include forts, defensive lines and the like. Do note, money is needed to maintain such structures. Counter intelligence involves feeding false information to the enemy. The more money you spend in this sector, the less likely your opponent will be successful in spying on your. Additionally, the more money you spend, the more likely you are to feed false information to your opponent.

Research
Research is pretty straightforward, you spend money in research to 1) improve your army, 2) gain access to new units, 3) be able to create or improve strategic weapons. You can choose to split your funds as and how you like.
Diplomacy
Diplomacy is the only sector with virtually no rules. You can choose to disclose your information to whomever you want, negotiate deals, give money away, threaten people, ally yourself with others, declare war. The possibilities are endless.Economy
Every year, you have to spend a set amount of money to keep your econmy on track. If you do not spend this money, your economy will slowly deteriorate. War will increase the strain on your economy. Conversely, if you pour additional resources into your economy, you can improve your economy (to an extent).

Strategic Weaponery
Strategic weaponery are essentially, weapons of mass destruction. They take enormous amounts of research, enormous amounts of resources and cause enormous amounts of destruction. The destructive capabilities of the SW varies from faction to faction as well as how much money you spend in it.

Making your move
To make your move, you simply submit it to the game master (me). Depending on the circumstances, I may or may not inform the other factions about your move. I will not be responsible for any disagreements among the members of the faction about the move.

Attacking
When an army meets another army, the dispute will be solved in a manner similar to risk. However, hard counters (e.g. Javelins against tanks) will get a +1 to their roll and the hardcountered get a -1 to their rolls. The army will be divided fairly (such as 40 Javelins against 1 Apoc) to ensure that large numbers does not equal auto win. The units will face off in an ideal circumstance for both armies. However, if one unit cannot attack the other unit, it is automatically destroyed. Supporting units will play a role, for instance, ambulances will reduce the number of troops in each unit. (Increasing the number of units overall). All rolls will be made by a fair dice roll programme.

An attack made by a strategic weapon will automatically destroy units in its radius, however, it may or may not require an accuracy roll. An accuracy roll will determined which direction, and by how much, the weapon misses by.

Total Defeat
Defeat can come in the following ways.1) Loss of 100% of land mass2) Loss of 80% of cities 3) Going into debt4) Voluntary surrender

End game

When the game ends, the final scoreboard will be tabulated. The faction which is still surviving and with the most number of points is considered the Strategic Command Champion. At least until the next round begins.

I really don't have the patience for a text-based civilization V, I like the idea, but I will not play.

Hey guys. Strategic Command Development is back on.

Currently Protroid is doing army lists and GGAM is doing objectives,

which leaves someone to do the tech trees and someone to help me with the battle style

I also need to appoint a vice GM to help me keep track of stuff.

(You can still chip in to do the others though :P I doubt Protroid can finish units all by himself)

As I said on the wiki, if possible, I will team up with whoever is playing as the talon. I might also be able to help with the unit list, though somebody might have to make a wiki page for that
