What's it do again??
Nothing. Just repairs fighters and single corvettes as the minelayer or command corvette. The second version will shoot lasers, but will be able to hold only one squadron of fighters instead of two.
Don't worry, I know how unimportant the ship is, but it won't stop me to make the same type of vessel also for Hiigaran.
But you may actually use it, it's less obvious and cheaper than carrier.

Interesting choice to have both a frigate style bridge, and capitalship style bridge. I still miss the HW1 Support Frigate, so I will probably get use out of this unit. My question is: will it be able to repair frigates and larger ships externally? Or will there be an option to build automated repair drones like in Complex? Or will they not be able to repair capitalships period?
Also, I'm really looking foreward to seeing the pulse laser version. I always liked the looks of the lasers on the laser corvette, and thought they would be a great Vaygr heavy weapon (missiles can only be used for so much after all).
Even though you had it in the previous version, I still love the overlaping white stripes on the front, especially how they have slightly different amounts of transparency, so it looks like two totally different stripes. The Vaygr were always meant to have diagonal stripes, even back to Dustwars.
The Hiigaran one will repair ships (I hope), the Vaygr one will just shoot.
You mean shoot fighters? Like a micro Carrier?
Shoot lasers against enemy frigates.
