The release of the "Poke646: Anniversary Edition" on Dec 21st 2016 marks the 15th anniversary of the original "Poke646" release and the 10th anniversary of the "Poke646: Vendetta" sequel release, both some of the most critically acclaimed singleplayer mods for Half-Life. Both games form a coherent storyline and span over a total of 42 maps and approximately 4-6 hours of playtime.

The "Poke646: Annniversary Edition" is basically a bundle of both mods, patched to run under the current Steam and Half-Life versions. This edition is designed to replace all other installations and/or patches of the mods, ideally becoming the only downloadable edition of the mods over the coming years.

The Level Design Of Poke646

Since all the original trailer footage for "Poke646" and "Poke646: Vendetta" is of very low quality, I assembled a HD trailer to accompany the release of the "Poke646: Anniversary Edition". Showcasing the vast variety of locations in the mods, this trailer focuses on the level design aspect of the games.

ModDB downscales uploaded video to 720p/30fps, so for the full uncompressed 1080p/60fps trailer, head over to Vimeo!

Sven Co-op version of the mod runs natively on GNU/Linux!

Wow! After all these years and the developer himself appears! Marc, I can't tell you how much I appreciated Poke646 from day one. I'm a huge, huge admirer and fan of your work. IMO, you pulled off the most visually finest and aesthetically-unique HL1 mod ever made, which has continued to be a major influence upon me to this day.

I remember reading in an interview you did with GameSpy that it took you 18 months to develop the first Poke646. You have a work ethnic that I truly envy sir and thank-you so much for this anniversary release! :)

It's 15th year anniversary of the mod, it has been 3 years since the GNU/Linux version of HL was released; yet the mod still does not support Linux. It launches fine if I edit "liblist.gam" file; but since custom tools and weapons were not ported into Linux, proceeding is not possible. Will that be fixed? Thanks, regards.

Not anytime soon, I'm afraid. The simple reason is that I don't have a Linux system to develop and test on, and that's likely not going to change. Additionally, I don't own (or even have) the source code for the .dll's, weapons or 3D models for Poke646, so any work on that would require the team to get back together - which is probably not going to happen 15 years later ;)

Well, at least I got a quick and honest answer. I kept hearing about this mod; maybe I will give it a shot in the future via WINE. Thanks. :-)

Thank you very much for your great work! Exellent mods for sure.
But there are two problems I noticed with HD pack. They are tiny but annoying.
1. The icons used in Steam menu are too big and don't fit their places.
2. The font used in Menu options is so small that it's impossible to read anything there.
It's all right with the mods themselves. The problem is in HD pack.

Hi, guy who did the Remod thing here.

1 & 2 - That's odd, you say that the icons in the Steam page are too big yet you say that the fonts in the menu is too small, what resolution are you using?

I'm using 1920x1080 and everything looks OK here.
Could you perhaps add a screenshot for an example?

Ah, i see.

I didn't really have any trouble with the small fonts (though i see how it can be difficult to see) and i also only found out about Small Mode recently.

I'll get on that right away!

Hi there and thanks for playing our mods! The "Poke646 Duology" HD pack is not an official release from me and my team, so my hands are tied in fixing any of its problems (I noticed some more issues with that release). I wish the author would've made that a little clearer and contacted me before his release, but as it is now, playing with the HD pack happens at your own risk.

Oh, whoops, i apologize.
I was actually working on the HD pack for quite a while and was surprised to find this when i finally finished with the mod for a mod.

Knowing that the addon would work with this version too i'd figured i'd put this thing in the addons section as well, didn't know people would get confused on who did what.

I'll get right on that as soon as i can.
Once again, apologies for the inconvenience.

Poke646 and its Sequel Vendetta are in my opinion the most well made and one of the best (if not THE best) Half-Life Mods I've ever had the pleasure of playing. Pros+ The Level Design is the most amazing I've ever seen for any GoldSrc Engine Game or Mod, hell I'd go far to say that its Level Design is better than anything made for Source Engine. The Mod adds some New Weapons that aren't just Reskins of Half-Life's Weapons (Well Mostly), one of the coolest is this Alien Slug called a Squasher which…
