Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
It's been a while and it's about time to give you guys some updates about what's going on behind the scenes with Path to Victory.
As you may well know, one big thing is finishing the beta which means making all the races fully playable and fun to play. In this regard the Kadeshi have got a nice look over. One of the things that bothered me about them was whenever you chose Marked of Sajuuk the game was essentially... over - and by over I mean no chance of getting back in the game if you lost.
The Marked of Sajuuk's strength has been toned down a little while at the same time, building Marked Ships has been made easier - though they cost more and take longer to build.
In regard to this, the Hybrid Swarmer has been split into two ships: The Heavy Hybrid Swarmer you know from the 0.0.6 release which now acts as a heavy anti-frigate and anti-capship fighter and the Hybrid Swarmer which you can see in the foreground here. The new Hybrid Swarmer is really nothing more than a quick modification to the basic swarmer chassis that gives these nimble little ships an incredible ammount of armor and a minor damage boost.
All in all, this allows you to keep on swarming in classic Kadeshi style even if you choose to go with Sajuuk over Kadesh. At the same time, a Heretic Armor module has been introduces for the Podship which allows you to build heretic ships from podships - further increasing the ease of using hybrid ships when playing the kadeshi.
Don't expect the Hybrid Kadeshi to be a full race - they are still just a subfaction - but they are now a lot more playable.
Still left to be done are some research upgrades for the Marked of Sajuuk - and sooner or later the Marked will be brought on par with the devout Kadeshi in terms of gameplay.
Please tell me that the Hybrid Module isn't final yet...
it's pretty final. I'm very limited with what I can do with subsystems due to poly limitations of not having LODs in hw2 subsystems. What exactly would you suggest I change.
Just some armor plating around the "back"...Like the other modules, at the moment it looks kinda naked...

No, not the shape, I like the wings and fins. I just would like to see some progenitor armor around the "back"...
