Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
It is time to die, heretic!
No, I'm not telling you what the mystery ship I showed you before is. Keep guessing, guys ;)
Instead, I'm going to talk about a major rework of the Kadeshi and the Faction system. Rather than the fairly linear system they have at the moment, the Kadeshi in the Beta release will have three tech 'paths' to go down.
First is the 'Kadesh' tech path. This focuses mainly on heavily armored ships such as frigates and capital ships. The Kadesh faction generally use a smaller number of superior ships, though still more numerous than most other races.
Second theres the 'Sajuuk' faction; the heretics. They focus on doing damage at all costs and generally don't care much about losses, armor, anything really. All they want is to kill kill kill and then kill it all again!
The third faction is the 'Garden' faction which focuses around their hallowed nebula and swarm tactics. The most numerous by far, the Garden faction is the most persitent faction, using nebula generators to remain unseen and continually strike their unaware foes.
Now, there will be some other major changes. For example, Fighters, Corvettes and Frigates are now all on one unit cap called the 'Swarm' with a max of 40. This means that if you so desire, you can build 40 frigates with the kadeshi (though this will go very badly, I assure you). The idea here is to allow the kadeshi to swarm with whatever they want to and not be so focused on swarmers (which was kinda boring, eh?)
Finally, the three tech paths are not exclusive. You have four 'points' you can distribute over the trees. Each tree has three tiers meaning you can go 310 or 220 or 112 if you get my meaning. This allows for a much more flexible kadeshi fleet which, while never capable of unleashing the full kadeshi arsenal, can be tweaked in different ways to gain different results.
Expect more on this system and what the different tech paths include - this was just the basic introduction.
Emm.. Where is option: "join us"???
PS: Is there any "Dark Kadeshars"? )
brilliant indeed!i love complex tactics!now kadesh will exterminate all the followers of the fake god!and it's useless to follow kadesh in twitter heretics,he don't forgive treason so easily!muahahahaha XD kadesh for god of the galaxy, out sajuuk!
Basically think "For the Overmind" :P
Lol wow teh Kadeshi is striking with a vengeance!
Hmmm, Is that a redone avatar I spy??? and is that mystery ship a replacement for the Templar?? or is it meant to complement the Templar and avatar shps??
The ship on the left looks like a medium LOD of the avatar... not a reworking. BUT, this would be the first time I've seen new ship LOD's in PtV.
I think it's a missile.
there are actually quite a number of LODs in PTV - i'm just too lazy to make them corretly. Generally, the base model is low poly enough to not impact performance (most small ships have lods though).
And no, it isn't a LOD :D
I don't want this to sound bad, I really don't, but where do you have those numbers of LODs? I don't think I've ever seen any real LOD mesh in any of your ships you've gave me. Your Turanic raiders don't have any LODs at all (sometimes you do have a same copy of the mesh as a LOD1 with lowres textures, but that's it), the Kadeshi are the same. My question is, are your released ships obsolete then?
Can't you guys see those two ships next to the needleship? Those are both mystery ships.
maybe the new ship is a missile cruiser(that explains the new missile),make sense to me...
Didn't the kadeshi religion have to do with protecting the great nebula? It started out with them killing every one that came there so the taiidan wouldn't find out about them and kill them, and eventually it became their religion.
they will protect the nebula by killing every one in the galaxy...make sense to me :)
But the >GOD< Kadesh? By the way that new aventar model better not be finished... I looked at the original image and it looked HORRIBLE!(well, It looked very weird and fake...)
maybe kadesh is khorne, with a different name. who knows?but if i get it right,in HW1 the kadeshins where inspired in the crusaders that have killed hundreds of persons in the name of their god(note:i'm atheist) and the name "kadesh" have come from a Egyptian battle that have taken place in a place called kadesh.so, 50 year after the 2nd homeworld war or the(where PTV take place),they have started a new crusade to exterminate the enemies of kadesh, that means everyone that don't live in the "garden".
Nope
Should I spill the beans? I know everything! Muahahahahahahahaha....
Same here! It's fun knowing all the secrets, no? ;) Sorry guys!
haha :P yup it is pretty amazing knowing every little detail :D
HintHintHintHint...
how early feb? I'll be back in the US on the 9th. Don't release it while I'm unpacking!
EDIT: I mean the beta for PTV
Honestly I can't say. Things are... messy... again. Just got sick yet again and my motivation's just plumeted. If this weekend is as depressing as the last few I don't think things will get moving at all.
Really wish I could give everyone a definitive deadline but things keep getting complicated.
take your time, take your time.....
