This mod is getting better by the day.
I remember the old tech screenshots with that ugly green lighting. Glad to see that you got rid of it.
The only thing I don't like about it is the lightsource. It seems to be nothing but an overlay (or decal) on the ceiling. I think it would be better if it wouldn't be on the same level as the ceiling. Shape is nice tho.

I originally thought it would be cool to have 2D lightsources, but you are correct...it doesnt look right. (though I dont doubt the future will have such things)I also saved entity data by just using these; but the extra props I would add by having actual fixtures wont be much.

Also, it takes objects away from what would be detail in having no light fixtures. I will design something futuristic in the near future :)

Yea I think I mentioned this in an earlier pic where the light was further away, how it lookt almost like a florescent tube light you'd expect to see in-cased w/in a housing in a typical office.
Anyway, the servers look good over there but I have a question, why do the black lines on the floor have a shadow, is that supposed to be a raised glass *floor* over the floor ?

Yes you did mention that :P I will give on this one and make some real light fixture models.

And yes, there is a glass plate over the floor, creating shadows. I was going to just make it one texture on a single surface but the effect is so much better in layering the floor brushes.

ok, I wouldnt want to create more work for you but the black lines on that glass floor contrast quite abit, IMO it would proly fit better if they were more towards the grey/blue spectrum and that maybe those 3 lines on each side were conduits and maybe in the middle of the floor you had something like, a large or series of glass tubes w/ green lighting effects, or something slowly rotating thats glowing/pulsating or I dunno, it just seems abit more practical to have something of interest under a transparent floor as opposed to just a concrete floor a couple inches under it..

I'd recommend you trying "indirect lighting". Portal did it.
It looks very good, even in Source, and is very easy to accomplish. Besides that it looks very futuristic when applied in the right place.
The floor has a glass layer on top if I understood you correctly. You could archieve some very cool effect with that type of lighting up a room here.
After I'm done with the blog article for you I'd draw/map some concept, because it's really hard to explain with words.
