Screen of some NPCs Ive been working on. They are not finished yet but close enough to test them. I still have to make new faces for the Lab Worker and the Security guy. Their skins will be a little more detailed when finished too :)
As the caption says, they are still WIP. I need to make new faces for the Security guy and the Lab Worker, as well as finish up their skins. Im not too fond of the Security skin so far but the Admin guy I think will be ok with some more detail to it.
add a few variations, so they don't all looked cloned, then this is gonna be awesome. Also, I really love the maniac face on the infected. What about a "Why so serious" Easteregg? :P

Not bad! But as x56erx said, please add a lot of variations. Especially with the zombies.
Yep if my math is right, there will be a total of 51 different NPCs to mess with. Maybe more should I decide to add some some different non-human NPCs Ive been comtemplating lately, but 51 humanoid variations.
Of course, thats going to take a while, so dont expect to see them all next month! Its taken me a month or so to get these 4 in working, testable condition. The others will be faster since Ive got most of the big stuff worked out, but nonetheless, its still a lot of work.
NPCs and models are what Ive primarily spent the last week on, so theres not much mapping progress to show. I have, however, been doing some more layout on graph paper and messing around with some more concept pieces in Hammer.

Are those lil gray areas at the bottom of shoes the soles or post to be shadows ? They look abit odd whatever it is.. I can say that along w/ the outfits do need a lil work but they look pretty good thus far :D
I notice the security guy has his logo i guess on the opposite side to help differenciate abit well besides the obvious "security" on the jacket but he loox abit puney.
The lab worker loox like a *bear*, I dont think the security guy should mess w/ him! lol
I think the admin needs more to help differenciate him, admin are supposed to be *elevated* afterall.
No thats just flaws in the skins :P I have a lot of work to doon those still :)
Dude the Infected guy looks AMAZING! Really creepy, will sure make me scream a lot (I do that ._.), keep up the work, and btw, will the infected walk different from the actual zombies in HL2? Because the walking animations from HL2 zombies wouldn't fit much as these guys are infected.. well you know what I mean, keep up this awesome joke, waiting for more.
Yeah they wont walk (shufffle) like the HL2 zombies. They do leap like the fast zombies but use standard running animations from the citizens to move around.
The security guy does look like a little weenine, but not as bad as the perspeticve in the screen shows. I may have to decompile/edit/recompile a larger NPC for him in the end though. (thats all these really are, are editied HL2 NPCs: new animations, skins, AI. Oh and the infected guy kinda pops out some claws when he swipes at you...)
As for the last part there maniac...I dont understand...joke? Certainy you dont think this is a joke (troll) mod?
did you remake the npc's mostly from the ground up or just used some of the existing npc's in hl2? including making the animations and bone structure for the npc's?
So far Ive just used HL2's existing NPCs, but they have been 'rebuilt' with animations from the Metropolice and Combine Soldiers. The Infected NPC has the Fast Zombie animations in addition to some (but not all) of the Citizen Animations. So he will leap at you and take wild swipes like a maniac :)
I am hoping in the future I can get a modeller to make NPCs specifically for this Mod, after I make a couple complete chapters. When that is done, I will start looking for someone to help with the more complicated modelling, which would be the NPCs and weapons.
So, for right now, these are kind of placeholders but convey the idea of what I want as the end result :)
