Natural Selection is an action-strategy game for the PC. It is a "Half-life modification", which means it is written on top of the Half-life game engine. "Mods" are a new sort of underground game development that enables small teams to create games using the technology of existing games. This means less expensive and lower risk game development, which allows experimentation and innovation. This arrangement also implies that "mods" are made as art, not for making money. When complete, Natural Selection will be released for free to all owners of Half-life, which is required to play Natural Selection. Game summary Multiplayer-only Half-life mod where one team plays marines and the other plays aliens. The humans must keep their cool and work together to assault an alien-infested spacecraft or colony. Marines vs. marines and aliens vs. aliens scenarios are also supported. Lateralus10k yeah there are a few cvars you can play with but bot_skill is the main one.
Heya, I've tried modifying bot_skill from 0 to 4 and they still have instantaneous and completely accurate reactions. I tried setting it to bot_skill 5 but then they just walked in a straight line and stopped shooting.
PikaCommando bot_skill 5 doesn't work but I've fixed this in the next version. bot_skill currently only affects accuracy of shooting but it should be instantaneous. Are you using MetaMod?

PikaCommando yeah it could - it looks like when Sandbot is run under MetaMod it isn't detecting changes to cvars (I didn't add the MetaMod support myself so I'm not sure why and haven't worked it out yet).
What "fixed this in the next version"? v0.4.2 is the latest version so far and it's been 5 whole years and there isn't an update after it.

Hey can you telling me what is a " Fixed bots attacking bots that had been kicked." so is work on teamplay
Rainbowdash98 bots that have been kicked still occupy a slot in the engine's list of players - in this version I fixed bots thinking these unused slots were actual players (if you kicked a bot you would sometimes see bots standing in empty space attacking the location where the bot was kicked).
can this bot mod play good on singplayer ???
Rainbowdash98 I'm not sure what you mean - the game won't let you spawn bots in singleplayer (singleplayer always has maxplayers set to 1) but this version fixes singleplayer level transitions being broken when Sandbot is installed.
How do I install it?
Patyk34 copy the half-life folder in the .zip file into steamapps/common/ and let it overwrite.
Hopefully in the next version, or at least the version after that Sandbot will have bots for CS 1.6, DMC, and TFC
THE_STRĪ»NGER I'm not planning on Deathmatch Classic support, and I think Counter-Strike's bots are probably better than anything I can do, but I will definitely be looking into Team Fortress Classic support (not sure when yet).
this is pritty good when loading a game, the script works as it should do in singleplayer and bots work great, but one slight problem, when loading a game the text that say what mission and point of save, is just displayed as a white square, so i have no idea what mission i saved on. on single player.

@shardthegox200 there's a function that the engine looks for to get the name for a savegame, but Sandbot's version is empty. I'll fix it up to do the right thing (will take a bit of time to get the map name to chapter name mappings for Half-Life, Opposing Force and Gunman Chronicles).

Dr.pper which game/mod? Are there any errors in the console?
Tried to install them, but can't control them at all. They always spawn in a bunch, like 10 bots or something, and swarm the entire map, and are insanely hard (i catch a headshot the next second after i respawn). I can neither temporary disable them (unless i totally uninstall them), or make less of them to spawn, or make them not so hardcore, or kick some of them (new bot join right after i kick one of them). Would prefer if they wouldn't spawn on their own and wait for me to call bot_add, or spawn just 1 or 2 bots until i add more. Or, better, if it would be configurable in a cfg file.
Vic47 bot_count controls how many bots will spawn (I chose this approach as it makes bot management across map changes simpler).
You can change bot_skill as well (1 is best, 5 is worst).

No, Deathmatch Classic is not supported.
How do I add more bots?
coolmods1 set the bot_count cvar to the number of bots you want.

Yes still working on it - the entity setup is quite odd which has made it hard to get working.
When I download it they have no config nor name txt nor waypoint file . How I can config it?
The waypoints are in the maps folders. What configuration are you looking for?
