Simply amazing. Hmm, maybe the cave itself should be darker, when you get to that point :P Nice texturing with the skulls!

I'm confident you chaps will do a better job than Peter Jackson's "Green domestos army" and his weak effort with the paths of the dead.
Following with interest (and hopefully fear). Lead the way.

Our Dead will be more three dimensional in some ways, but more importantly, the Army will behave as it does in the book and the city of the dead will be laid out as such. And we will of course try to make the whole Paths quite dark and creepy.

Awesome :) "Well, this is a thing unheard of. An Elf would go underground, where a Dwarf dare not." We understand now, Gimli, there's nothing to be ashamed of :P

You should improve the textures, it seems like you've just copied/pasted them from oblivion.

They have a long way to go yet mate, it could even look near enough completely different when they've finished! x

I second the sculls blending in more to the stone. Make the skulls white/grayer and I think that would really improve your work. The vaniila skulls are too yellow. Excellent work man, keep it up!

I think that skulls should more "blend in" to the stone. A change in texture could help.

Hi Team MERP! I was just wondering if you are needing any writers for quests or dialogue? I'd love to write some quests for this mod to be able to help with making it in some way, I imagine you've already got a fair few of people writing, but if you need anyone to do certain types of quests then I could give it a shot. :)

names_are_useless Mar 28 2012, 12:11pm replied:

@austinjames77: What we need are ACTIVE quest writers. We have quest writers come to the project, but then I hardly ever see them posting >_>

Please read these Quest-writing Guidelines:
Then create a thread with a quest idea (it doesn't HAVE to be in Rohan or before Sept 22, 3018, but its recommended):

OK, well I've just registered now! :) Read the guidelines and I'll start with writing some quests. I have an idea for a small battle (20 vs 20) in a village in Rohan, would this perhaps be too big or would it still be usable? Thanks! :)

austinjames77 Mar 28 2012, 5:31pm replied:

*NOTE* The small battle I mentioned would be during the war of the ring. It'd be an attack on a village in Rohan by Wild-men. :)

names_are_useless Mar 29 2012, 9:47am replied:

@austinjames77 20v20 big? Please. MERP is trying to create battles at least in the 100s (otherwise Helm's Deep, and especially the Battle of the Pellenor Fields, would be absolutely pathetic :P). Also don't bother with describing the town/village: we've been creating custom settlements for Rohan, and I don't believe we're looking for any new ones to be created. Just try to describe where this attack would presumably be (I assume either in West Emnet or the Westfold?).

That's fine that the battle takes place in the War of the Ring (since the War begins in the middle of the timeline that's planned for v0.1). However, the timeline only covers very EARLY in the War, and I don't know how I feel about a Wild-man attack this early (I presume you mean the Dunlendings?) ... depends on how well the quest is written.

If you follow the links that 'names_are_useless' put on you can write them on their website, the links tell you how they're meant to be set out and when they'll be set. You just gotta sign up and then post in the literary developments section. :)
