The 'Middle Earth Roleplaying Project' aims to recreate J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth in the Creation engine of 'Skyrim'. The player will be plunged into Middle Earth near the end of the Third Age, not long before the War of the Ring breaks out.

@Octrox: How many mod projects have you looked at that give a definite release date? Especially when the game that they're modding for has only been out a couple months? There is a reason the "Release Date" on the front page of Moddb is "TBD" (to be determined).

Basically what I'm saying is: we don't have a release date and we won't be giving any out, just be patient and wait :P (and play something else in the meantime: not like we'll have any Beta release in the next month or so).

I think he misread the first few words, "When is this released" instead of "When this is released".

It looks awesome BUT...I think the texturing on the mountain could use a little more work.

We are going to use the mountain meshes to add detail to regions where it seems lacking. However, the color is meant to be light as these mountains are limestone as opposed to volcanic or another type of mountain.

Looking good guys! Just had a thought...Seeing as though there'll be new quests and dialogue etcetera will you be doing your own voice overs? :)

Yes, we will have voice acting and are shooting for the quality levels seen in Nehrim (only in English of course)

Have you seen the new screenshots from the forum?FANTASTIC!!!There is one thing that bugs me though, in shot 3 the rock texture looks a bit weird in some parts, is it because of the stretching effect?Otherwise great job!I can't wait to try the playable version!

Are you referring to the pictures posted by Alasdairhurst of the Snowbourn river? And if so, do you mean the rock landtexture on the terrain or on the actual rock meshes? The rock landtextures will always look a bit odd because they tile. We'll cover mountains into the mountain meshes later though, so it'll be far less noticeable.

Oh, and stay tuned because there will be a lot more awesome screenshots soon, we are making solid progress.

Yeah, I was referring to the landtextures.A lot of games have this problem because of texture repetition. Covering them with meshes when it's noticeable is a great idea.

Well weapons like swords are already made by other modder's in skyrim nexus or the workshop on steam, so at list that is done, its possible there's quite alot more being made or made already that could be used if asked by the modder

Well, the maker of the LOTR weapons collection, Isilmeriel, is part of the team and those models are also being used in MERP. We also have other talented modelers at work creating new assets for MERP even now. You will like what you see when they are done ;)
