The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.
Just showing the models before any textures are on them :)
Weapon models, the only type of models that look "naked" worse :D
Just kidding, good job there again ;)
Now With millenia's textures and done, nice lr300 model :)
I suppose we'll see it in New Vegas before too long?
I lol'd so hard when I saw the KS-23 fired grenades XD
Is there no way to make moving the rear sight back work out? The vanilla position provides pretty horrible eye relief. The model looks excellent, however. Great job!
Of course there is a way, it's a separate piece lol.
I can ask the other team members for their input on the rear sight position.
The farther apart the sights, the easier it is to be see any error in alignment, and the closer the rear sight is to the eye, the more light reaches the eye through the aperture. All AR-15 based guns place the rear iron at the back.
I like it where it is. It hearkens back to the weapon style of old stalker, is fairly unique in its placement there, and would provide much faster sight-picture acquisition if this were real life.
I don't think you've ever fired a gun in your life.
Having the rear sight closer to the front sight does not increase reaction time nor acquisition of a target.
If anything it decreases it.
By the sounds of it, I think you're the one whose never fired a gun before. Have you ever seen or fired an AK rifle? I have. A WASR-10 and a friend's Zastava M70AB2, both imported by Century. Their sights are in the same arrangement/distance setup as these are. Sights being closer together DOES make sight picture acquisition faster. Handguns have tiny sight radii, but they very are easy to line up and quick to do so. However, this introduces a large margin for error when lining them up. Having a longer distance between both sights is, by leaps and bounds, a more accurate way of aiming and hitting a target, but they take longer to line up the further apart they are. Additionally, having the sights further from your eye in a setup such as this preserves peripheral vision. This is the primary reason behind the famed gun-enthusiast Jeff Cooper's definition and build characteristics of a "scout rifle", for example - they have a long eye-relief, forward mounted optic just for the same reasons I stated above. Typically, AR15 rifles do have long sight radii, but it's the zone! Speed and awareness should triumph over precision and accuracy.
I never once claimed that having a shorter sight radius increases reaction time or acquisition of a target. For as short a comment as mine was, you sure didn't put too much effort into reading it.
What having a shorter, more forward mounted sighting arrangement DOES do, is simply allow you to align the rear sight notch/aperture up with the front sight post faster, albeit with less accuracy.
Any in game shots?
Well no, they're not textured or anything yet :P
uhh nice
I LOVE IT
awesome!
I tought this mod was dead, but now I am happy to see you are still making progress.
No iconic pistol grip? Why? I see you used early version as reference (judging by that stock), but that pistol grip from late one.
Anyway, it's nice to see someone made that signature rifle from STALKER.
It looks shorter than the vanilla one.
I think I just came in my pants.
