if you play jedi outcast with it, i think it should be, but i have not tested it, so if you do, let us know.
and just in case and as far as i remember, if you play jedi outcast, and you're on windows it's recommended not to use openjk and only use it if you're on linux.

cheers

"if you play jedi outcast, and you're on windows it's recommended not to use openjk"
Could you tell me why?

its been a while since i looked into it when i played jedi outcast again. and i assume i got it from here: Pcgamingwiki.com

quote: "OpenJK is in development so bugs should be expected, do not use if official version works."

so i have no exact why, except that i did read it somewhere, official version worked for me and i guess that's why i had this back in my mind.

but again, it should work, i use openjk for jedi academy and upscaled textures work there too.
and it's easy to try out, backup your jedi outcast folder, paste openjk files and try it out.

cheers

Amazing mod! It really looks great! How long are you away from releasing the Jedi Academy one? I can't wait for the Academy one, it'll make the game perfect to play again.

if you scroll down in the comment section, you find possible solutions... but since even dedicated GPUs can't handle it, don't expect anything from integrated GPUs.. gl

Thank you for this texture pack. I love improved textures but I hate new texture packs that change the actual original artwork into something completely different. This AI upscale thing seems like the best way to go! It made my most recent playthrough of the game so much more awesome, especially with the new shaders in the FX mod. It was like I was seeing all of the original textures and art, but BETTER, sharper cleaner.

I have one request, can you please give Jedi Academy the same help. I found an AI upscale for it, but it is a ridiculous 11GB in size, they were aiming for 4k textures. I don't mind the download but the ridiculous side effect is a 2.5 minute initial load time for each level. Your textures upscale was less than 2GB and was a great balance of improvement and load times. 11GB of added detail is completely unnecessary.

Again, thank you for this.

hey, thanks for the feedback!
i have already made the jedi academy upscale, but i haven't played through the game yet to confirm everything works and thus not released it yet.

i totally get it about texture packs being faithful to the original vision of the game, even though i don't mind good texture packs that change things outright.
but for jedi academy i'm thinking of replacing some grass textures, some are really ugly =D but those will be an optional download if replaced..

the pack is 5gb, and loading times tank quite hard compared to vanilla...

savegame on the first level, game on 10k/rpm harddrive
with 1min40
w/o 10sec

so not great, but faster than 2.5min xD i'll try to test it soon, like i wanted to weeks ago, owell ... xD

cheers

1.4 minutes on a 10k/rpm HDD vs. 2.5 minutes on a SSD is a hugely better difference.

I can't wait for you to clear it for release, I will be checking back regularly!

Sorry for the reply delay, just been playing a lot. I wonder if an NVME motherboard mounted SSD would load it faster. I just bought my first one and it loads everything on it fast as lightening. Much faster from direct Motherboard connection doesn't suffer the SATA bottleneck.

When you finalize the texture mod and put it up for download, I would be glad to test it.
