Well all you see of it in Halo Wars is ice. But 1.) That was in its north pole and 2.) Halo Wars sucks ***. But I still enjoyed glassing the **** out of it nonetheless.
The problem is Halo Wars is that it was a console RTS. Solely designed for consoles, which is part of the reason it was so bad (at least, I thought it was bad).
A PC version would just be a console port, and nothing makes me angrier than a console port because they're almost always done poorly.
Now if Halo Wars wasn't manhandled by Microsoft and it's money whoring scheme and put to PC, it would have been glorious.
So there a lot of maps made by the modding team or is it names put into the planet name file? Also can somebody tell what 'sky boxes' are please. I feel horribly ashamed as my poor brain can't wrap around it all the way. Is it the planets when you scroll out to the system view?
Skyboxes is the the background view of the stars. You don't really have to scroll out. When you're managing your fleet, the cold-black-nebulous empty space with beautiful stars would be your skybox. I say black because I remove the colourful skybox feature, seemed a bit unrealistic to me.
I like to have the colorful Skyboxes because it makes it interesting to look at, plus it makes it easier to see your ships if they are of a darker color.

Oh damn!
Lets just say that I wasn't happy with the UNSC taking back Harvest.
"Harvest", the ironically named Ice planet.

Actually, Harvest probably looked something like this after the Covenant got to it. Once it had a chance to cool, anyway.
well, you see one of the cities in a cutscene, looked nice :D
I was if nothing else bummed out there wasn't a PC version.
RTS never work well on the console. There could've been potential otherwise.

do the covenant ships turn on their side as if the beam is underneath the ship when glassing, or do they still do the normal boring side way
The normal boring side way.
Covenant Destroyers are in the Cruiser family right?
Yeah. I felt pretty accomplished with that fleet, to be honest. And this only shows a part of it. I steamrolled them all the way to Earth.
Damn...
Sht just got real.

Just wondering, what would the overall progress be for this? 60%+?
