Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
Winrar, 7zip, or equivalent program capable of extracting .rar formatted files.
Homeworld 2 updated to version 1.1.
Download the file.
Extract the Contents of the mod to C:\Program Files\sierra\Homeworld2\Data or equivalent.
Make a copy of the Homeworld 2 shortcut on your desktop, right click the shortcut and select properties. Now you will see a target line (it's the top one).
At the end of the target line you need to put a space, then type -mod homefront.big. Now your target line should look similar to this: "C:\Program Files\sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod homefront.big
What NOT to do:
Do not put -Overridebigfile and the mod extension in the same target path, the mod will not work!
Do not use an outdated mod target path! Make sure you know what version of the mod you're using and edit it accordingly (-mod 'currentversion'.big).
This is not the final version of this mod.
It helps us if people report problems (only report if it has not been posted more than a few times), especially on our forums as we are more likely to get back to you sooner. Our forums are here: Sinsoftheprophets.com
Keep on sending us feedback so we can make the mod better!
Since 2002 we have explored, played and enjoyed mods of all shapes and sizes just like Homefront. We love games like Homeworld 2 that have opened themselves up to modding. Because of communities like Workshop, Nexus, Curse, RTSL, GameBanana and Mod DB, more games support modding today than ever before.
Let's celebrate modding
As mods play a bigger role in the future of gaming, we believe it is important to recognize the effort the teams behind the work put in, giving us countless hours of enjoyment while asking nothing in return. We have the power to change our games and that needs to be celebrated to ensure it remains a big part of PC gaming's future.
It all started
In 2015, when the paid modding dispute left many gamers and modders worried about the direction the industry is headed. Things have since settled down, but we believe it is important to continue this small tradition to show we are not alone in our love for mods, and the open platforms that embrace them.
Mod Appreciation Week
Nothing is more motivating than knowing something you've built is being enjoyed by others. So this week if there is a mod you love on Mod DB (or anywhere else), make the effort to shout out to them, mention and link their mod in a tweet, blog, forum or facebook post with the hashtag #modlove2016 (or click the icons above for a pre-built post).
