Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
Yes, I know, it's not the actual beta release yet!
The following are some screenshots of Firefight in its current state on a map native to the mod, including shots of the U.N.C. Liberator in action, unintended cooperation between frigate groups in combat, the sheer number of enemies faced at just wave fifteen, our new MAC FX, improved and tweaked, shots of Archer spam, and some screens of oldies but goldies.
Enjoy!
Oh hey look, a turret! I'm guessing this ship is the UNSC Liberator? As it seems to be the one most heavily featured in the pictures, which leads me to guess that it is the starting/main ship for firefight. Also that snazzy omega symbol must mean something.
Actually the symbol of Libra, Omega is a far longer, U-shaped symbol with a hooked end, but close!
And Firefight will more or less have three sub-modes so far:
Starting with a full battle station and shipyards.
Starting with only the Liberator and what fighters you can build from it.
Starting with the Pillar of Autumn refit, and what reinforcements it can call in, each offering a different level of challenge.
The Liberator mode may or may not be in the Beta as I would rather have a fresh model instead of an upscaled Hermes. It's model will probably be replaced with the Cruiser Carrier, as the Liberator depicts.
Ah, very cool. I like the fact that there is a carrier for each size classification of ship, i.e. Frigate, cruiser, capital...etc.
So this gussied up Hermes class which has been in almost all of the firefight screenshots insofar will be replaced with a larger ship? Can't wait to see that one :D
