Description
An alt. variant with an AR wielding gunner will be deployed from the Elephant, when it is made. The gunner is rigged to "twist" rather than rotate..in other words, the guy on the back will act as a "turret" but can only rotate about 45 degrees, like a human would and will only rotate from the waist up, like a person. lol.
Chassis model credits to .Corey. Textures, marine and weapon models, credits to me.

is it just me or does the mongoose look... squished?
Keep in mind this is the Halo 3 Mongoose...not the Reach variant, which was bulky. Is that what you mean?
i think he means the wheels look a little too far apart and the body looks a bit too flat

They are also good against heavy units because they are so fast :) So...Wrath tanks also suffer against them. A Wraith will always win the fight but not without taking a good chunk of damage first.
Missiles probably do pretty well against Banshees as well if they track like in Halo 2. This may be my favorite unit when the mod comes out!
They do have limited tracking, just like the game's stock 'plex' missiles. So, they are semi-effective against Banshees...but Banshees are also quite fast and are armed with fuel rods so I think Banshee would win at least 60% of the time.

if i buy a mongoose from the menu, will there be more than one, or just one per buy, and how much do they cost?
500 bucks to buy one. There is only one per squad (deploys from the back of the transport pelican, like in H3). They are available at tech1.
That's funny because I was going to ask if they could be deployed into battle from the back of a Pelican.
Let's just hope they don't flip over as much as when I drove them, I know you can't make them flip, it's a joke.
Seeing as most of the units come in packages of one (much like in Halo), will the ground unit cap be raised? Seven mongooses just wouldn't be very... satisfying.
The pop cap isn't going to be raised per se but units wont have a higher pop cap than one. Heroes and power units may have a pop cap of two.
Good work, but a quick question, will there be any special units, like heroes (John 117, Noble team, Buck's ODST squad etc.) just curious :)
Noble team is dead by the time the mod takes place (first strike-ish). Other heroes will be in, yes.
First Strike was amazing! It's my favorite Halo book besides Fall of Reach. I was really hoping to see the epic space battle over Reach in the game version, but was very sadly disappointed. My Xbox would catastrophically explode if 300 Covenant ships came out of slipspace over Reach to face the "Big Sticks" and huge UNSC fleet...
