GoldenEye: Source is a total conversion modification of Half-Life 2. It is a fan made recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64, a lot of things have changed since they first designed that game, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. We are here to take the game even further but at the same time provide a lot of those fun elements that hardcore GE64 fans will enjoy. We've got experienced team members all across the board, from professional level, to amateurs looking to make it into the business working hard to make this dream a reality.

Hello loyal fans and new recruits! It has been about 7 months since we released Beta 4.0 of GoldenEye: Source to the public and we want to thank you for downloading our mod in droves, giving it a go and sticking with our mod. As always, we are dedicated to providing you the quintessential GoldenEye experience and are ready to roll out our next update!
We are bringing GoldenEye: Source out of Beta status with this forthcoming update. We are continuing with the previous versioning system and will officially call the newest installment GoldenEye: Source v4.1. Over the next three media releases, until we unleash the downloadable package, the hardworking team will be detailing the massive list of changes we have in store with this update. To whet your appetite, we’ll start out with our brand new custom official map, Casino!
Casino is the latest production from our immensely talented level designer Luchador. Although it did not appear in the original GoldenEye 64, we are sure this map will please. It offers a full rendition of the Casino Royale in Montenegro. Many aspects were inspired by the events that took place in the movie Casino Royale and others are based directly on the real casino.
Loyal fans may remember this map from the Beta 1 days. Luchador has since become a full-fledged developer and has done a bang up job of mastering his map for the official out-of-beta build. Currently, Luchador is moving to exciting work on Surface for a future content update, among other feats we will detail in the coming weeks.
Our community has been hard at work while we have been perfecting our 4.1 phase. The Cy, a 3rd party mapper has been working on a diligent recreation of Scaramanga’s house which will showcase all the famous rooms and features from The Man With The Golden Gun.
We also have our most recent community project, monitor images, still in full swing and accepting submissions. The project is detailed here if you are interested in joining and, like the achievements tradition, putting your stamp on our game. Coming up next we will detail the specific changes that have been completed in v4.1. A slew of gameplay updates, server optimizations, and HUD integrations have been made to make your gaming even more enjoyable.
