GoldenEye: Source is a Multiplayer only total conversion modification of Half-Life 2. It is a fan made recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64, a lot of things have changed since they first designed that game, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. We are here to take the game even further but at the same time provide a lot of those fun elements that hardcore GE64 fans will enjoy. We've got experienced team members all across the board, from professional level, to amateurs looking to make it into the business working hard to make this dream a reality.

Is there a way I can extract the weapon sound files so I can use them for other games? I want to play games like Command and Conquer Renegade but with GoldenEye weapon sounds. :)

Simply go to \Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\gesource\sound\weapons and you'll find all the sound files.
If you release a pack of them for another game, please remember to leave proper credit to this mod.

Nah I won't be releasing any packs, just for personal use. Cheers.

Brightskins have never been supported and the community looks down upon you for using them.

awww man it's all good was just bringing some like perfect dark feels into the game since they ran on the same engine and perfect dark had a lot of dark maps where you could either have blinking enemies or bright enemies but still seeable players regardless of the option being on or off. Plus I use sweetFx to make a contrasted dark saturated environment for more eye candy. A lot of people have used and use mayday because she has that dark model edge to hide in shadows. The skin process was just to balance out the odds but all good. So many more games use a "form" of brightskins or colored enemies for a more competitive environment but all those games have crosshairs to. So I guess yeah if they had time it would have more than likely been added but hey wouldnt be Goldeneye right? Much like how zandronum actually plays the Doom game on its original vanilla engine and yet gives the ability to look up and down along with a crosshair which weren't really part of the original game either. But it wouldnt be doom then yet it is doom and not one has complained of the added options. I respect your opinion even though of the lack of time they had or one person had to actually add more multiplayer components. But have a team or that one person have actually got the time to I would think looking down upon me as a community probably wouldn't happen. Gotta shame what a shame all good mate. Was just a question bro

Any chance of a macOS compatible version?

It's possible to install it on Mac through Wine or Bootcamp. An official compatible version would be available when (if) the game is updated to Source SDK 2013.

Haven't played this in a while =) Is it possible (maybe planned) to have npc's on the map in a type of singleplayer / co-op mode?

The game has multiplayer bots, but no singleplayer.

Ah, very nice!
But still no Linux version... :(
I know they release the source code on Github, but haven't seen anyone working on it.

You can play on Linux through Wine. The SDK 2013 update may come in the future.

So true! In fact I created a step-by-step guide on how to play in PlayOnLinux
Gamersonlinux.com

The only problem is many of the levels crash. So I will test this newer version and see if its better in Wine
