GoldenEye: Source is a Multiplayer only total conversion modification of Half-Life 2. It is a fan made recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64, a lot of things have changed since they first designed that game, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. We are here to take the game even further but at the same time provide a lot of those fun elements that hardcore GE64 fans will enjoy. We've got experienced team members all across the board, from professional level, to amateurs looking to make it into the business working hard to make this dream a reality.

Description

GoldenEye: Source v4.2 brings fully customizable bots, ultra refined polish, enhanced scenario help, and fully rendered loading screens. The v4.2.3 update enhances this experience with refined end of round reports, updated gameplay scenarios, bug fixes, and other enhancements.

Here's a direct link to all mirrors: Moddb.com there should be at least 4 different mirrors available there.

You just need to add /all ending to the link of "DOWNLOAD NOW!" button to see all mirrors of a specific download.

Thanks!

From time to time and on various mods I'd get corrupted downloads. Adding the /all to the download link shows location of servers and server loading.

The next release will: v4.3

It will require a ton of work to port over the code, however. v4.3 will be entirely open source as well!

You can track the progress here: Github.com

2013 STEAMPIPE "update", revamp of file system.
OS Windows 7 x64

Q:

Here recently I fired up various Half-Life 2 based mods and found out all of them have been broken by the 2013 STEAMPIPE "update". Reminds of 2009/2010 when STEAM revamped the game engine... which BROKE and killed off quite a few mods.

Has this problem been addressed yet with this mod (Or is it even a problem?)

PS: What is the process to get GoldenEye Source back up and running if this is the case?

Guess I'll answer my own question:
GoldenEye_Source_v4.2.3_full.1.exe installer seems to not be affected by the 2013 STEAMPIPE "update".

ANYONE KNOW of a DECENT WALKTHRU on getting mods that were broken by the 2013 STEAMPIPE "update" working again?
