Freeworlds: Tides of War is a fan built Star Wars total conversion mod for Digital Anvil's Freelancer game that was released several years ago. When fans began to make mods for Freelancer, one of the many things people were keen on seeing was a Freelancer mod based on the Star Wars universe developed by George Lucas. Freeworlds and Tides of War were the answer to this outcry. The development team of both mods have now joined forces to create an epic new Star Wars TC, Freeworlds: Tides of War.
This video shows our new basic, dynamic shadows!

Ohhh just 13 more days and this masterpiece will be unleashed on this world. I could cry out of happiness :(
/me dies happy from watching this awesomeness
Nice.
Yeah, cause shadows are so exciting. Honestly, if I had to describe them as someone, I'd say they're almost like stalkers: They always follow you around, are hard to see, and overwhelm you in dark places...
Great work btw! I love to see that you guys are putting all this effort into this mod to make it prefect! Now if only I could get this guy to stop following me... lol
You know that you guys rock a bit too much? ;)
Shouldn't the shadow disappear when you're shooting around it? After all, the laser fire emits light and more so for the explosions.
Otherwise - simply EPIC! And not just the shadows.
P.S. For the blaster explosions in the background during battle (I think Sushi talked about it in the Dev Video #15): can't the server just send a seed number (for the random generator) and leave each client PC to handle the computations? I think similar method is used in "Infinity Universe" to generate the entire galaxy. This should make the server's life a little bit easier.
Also, is it possible in Tactical View to see which ship is attacking which ship? At least for medium and capital sized ships. Like with lines or some similar method. I believe it'll be quite useful to the commander, since he could more easily and quickly assess the situation and send reinforcements where are needed the most. For example, if a ship is ganged-up by a number of enemy ships, the commander could order a retreat to that ship or send reinforcements, before it's too late to save it.
