This mod is set in Games Workshop's, great Warhammer 40,000 ( 40k ) universe. Each map pits Imperial Space Marines against the Tyranid swarm and the Legions of Chaos, competing in a series of mission objectives, culminating in a battle to decide the fate of the planet. In the beta 9 map csm_thunderhawk loyalist marines has been shot down next to a rebelling guard compound. The imperials mission is to find a way to evacuate before main chaos battle force arrives and wipes them out. Chaos forces within the compound are trying to stall the marines long enough to receive reinforcements and wipe them out.
Beta 9's thunderhawk is a a much expanded version of the ex classic thunderhawk, with CSM defending the objectives rather than Tyranids. Whole new areas have been added and existing ones retouched with new assets.
