Sins of a Solar Empire is often described as a 4XRTS game, or a game that tried to merge the action and tactics packed gameplay of a Real time strategy game with the deep, complex, empire wide strategy of a 4X turn based game. It's up to debate whether Sins succeeded in this goal, but I think all can agree that of the 4Xs of "explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate", Sins is much more focused on the exterminate than on the others. This mod seeks to give more depth to the other 3Xs of the game by adding additional game elements or refining the existing ones to reward players who give more strategic thought to the non-combat side of the game. Combat will still be the center point of the game, but players will find that the non-combat options available will be much more rewarding. Spying, exploring, sabotage, diplomacy, culture, and economic development have all been added or changed in innovative new ways. Regardless of what you think Sins is, this is the 4XRTS it should have been.

I'll check on the Embassies and Warlord Lurathrak when I get home, but...
(1) Phasic Strike is a vanilla Rebellion Vasari Rebel unique ability, I did not change it in any way. I did add a similar ability, Phasic Immunity, but the infocards a bit picky at times, so the phase jump inhibitor immune effect isn't showing up on that one there really isn't anything I can do about it. All I can do is change the description text, so if that needs to be more clear I can fix that up. (2) Well, its not really a bug since I just haven't given him an ultimate ability yet. I couldn't come up with anything I really liked for him in Diplomacy, he'll probably get one soon now in Rebellion. (3) Its intentional. The racial/subfaction research is completely optional, you get those bonuses whether you research the tech or not. Its just there so you can see all the bonuses in one place. That's why the numbers don't change, you already have +15% from the beginning and researching it will still leave it at 15. |

Yes i know it's a vanilla research, I thought it was a bug because when I jump i get the damage bonus, but it show 80% instead of the vanilla 15% if i remenber well, so I thought it was changed. And for the racial research, ok, now i understand Edited by: StrakeFox |

Just continued my game with the VR, in fact the Phasic Strike research isnt bugged, it just stack. So after many quick jump it can appear this incredible amount. Edited by: StrakeFox |

Okay, I've fixed everything but the phasic strike thing in my internal build, it will be fixed in the 1.4 official release. Something does seem wrong with it, but I didn't think I changed anything to do with it, so I need to try another Vanilla game and see how it acts there. Forged Alliance is a new tech, but it only works on arriving at an allied planet, and it gives a Weapon Cooldown bonus, not a Damage Output bonus like phasic strike. |
