After about two years of intense, and often difficult, development, Dissolution is finally available for public release.
Often it has been difficult, but many more times it has been rewarding and it is great to finally be releasing this mod. Of course, this mod wouldn’t be what it is now without the help from my music composers and voice actors, all of whom have been excellent to work with. I thank them all for helping me with this project.
For those wondering what Dissolution is: Dissolution is a science-fiction, single-player mod that places great focus on fun gameplay, strong plot, interesting environments and dramatic characters. Dissolution encourages players to piece together its plot and does this through character interaction, audio logs (giving you various points of view) and environmental story-telling.
I hope you enjoy Dissolution and, regardless of whether or not you do, I welcome your feedback.

(Part 2)
Plotwise, true, it was predictable for anyone who played Bioshock previously, but nevertheless, even though I basically guessed what would happen, I certainly enjoyed the ride nonetheless, and as long as the story's good, who cares if it's familiar? And hey, you didn't pull the obvious 'I'm a traitor' gag. Most game franchises seem to be using that one now.
Now, a little negative,, but some positive too - My biggest disappointment with this game, was that it seemed to end so quickly. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - It means you succeeded in creating an interesting environment, and an enjoyable experience.
However, this DOES lead to the slightly awkward hope for a sequel of some sorts. After encountering the audio diaries from Grendel (VERY well voice acted, by the by, he was good and creepy), I was hoping to encounter the man himself - Maybe if you ever consider continuing this, I'd say a plot involving him and his interesting little project would certainly be a good call.
I'd also recommend boss battles if you ever resume this, because bosses always liven a game up.
That's all I gotta say.
Great work, and keep at it - A lotta potential for this game idea.
We can always expect storyline to seem familiar after a while, thats what it means to be a experienced movie goes. People where saying that many decades ago with every genre. Its all about what originality there is and how well it's all handled.
First of, thanks for your detailed comment! I love getting an in depth overview of what a player thought of the whole thing.
I was pleased to hear you liked it and even more pleased that it encouraged you to explore and poke around -- because that's probably what the whole mod was about, a huge facility, largely spread out for the player to experience in its entirety (or, almost entirety).
In regards to your question, there is indeed a sequel in the works (that expands on just about all of Dissolution's areas). It could be a while off, as I am kept very busy.
Thanks again for taking the time to write!
(Custom Review - Part 1)
Completed the game and thought I'd leave feedback.
I for one, LOVED this game.
True, it bore a lot of similarities with Bioshock, but that certainly didn't work to its disadvantage.
You managed to make the experience different enough for it to feel fresh and new, whilst maintaining the same appeal that makes Bioshock a great game. You created a world very different from Rapture, one that's both rich and in-depth, something rarely found in mods.
I found myself driven to explore the areas, not for any quests, but for want of finding out more about the world. The audio logs certainly worked to your advantage, and your voice acting cast, although a little rough on the early recordings, really turn out quite fantastic later on, when their more dramatic recordings demand it.
I also enjoyed the combat - The crows freaked me the heck out, and the 'Rabble' were an enjoyable challenge. True, their AI was simple, but the way they seemed to hunt you down with dogged determination made them seem all the more threatening to me, and they made for challenging opponents, due to most gunfights taking place in quite close quarters. What I WOULD have recommended however, would be giving them sound effects - That is, voices, as most of the time, it felt like I was simply fighting drones, rather than insane people. That's one trick Bioshock used which would have made this even better. I'd also have recommended more scare moments with the crows - Maybe one of them bursting out of a vent in a surprise attack, I dunno.
This is a good mod if your a fan of Sci-Fi or Myst/Suspns.
Its only 7.6 rateing umm People must think its creepy and scary for them idk if i should get this mod Is it scary in any kind Because umm If its to scary Then I would scream until i pop bricks...
It's got a few horror moments, but the majority of the mod is more adventure than horror. There's certainly no jump scares or gross-out scares in there. ;)
I really enjoyed this mod. It isn't perfect but I can see that a lot of effort went into it. I was a tad bit disappointed that the weapons didn't do that WHOOSH thing when you moved them around.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing. ;)
In my opinion, a lot of talent went into this, it was just a mis-step.
