Dark Interval is a restoration/revision mod that lets you play Half-Life 2 as it could have been. Using Valve's early concepts, we're creating new maps, models, textures, and custom dialogue. The mod is released in episodes, the most recent being Dark Interval: Part I - an intro chapter to the bigger story.
You're closing in on the Depot - massive Combine structure housing traincars and engines, cargo containers, even prisoner pods. It has everything to receive inbround trains, unload and replace cargo, perform maintenance. And it is your final destination in Part 2.
Really love the sense of scale here.
This is my favorite building in the Half Life universe and you all nailed it.
this is really good
Fantastic work with open space, it look so spacious and endless but not empty.
rare skill for source developer
Damn, I like all the tinier buildings climbing and buidling up at the base of the Depot, really awesome.
Gives it a nice visual frame of reference for the overall size.
Really good.
Good work!
Looks frickin' awesome

What does this train-track connect with? My lack of knowledge is glaring when it comes to what the original layout for HL2 was.
It's a railway network used by the Combine for transporting supplies and people, both with new rails and old pre-invasion rails. The tracks here lead into a depot that's probably used for train repairs. Originally it was going to be an explorable part of Nova Prospekt, but that got changed in development. The retail version still has a giant Combine structure in the distance, but you never get very close to the outside of it.
Thank you. Thats pretty interesting.
The depot always had that amazing architecture in the beta, I like it's railway section and the wasteland the prison in the HL2 beta looked so surrealism in term of aesthetic (imo), fantastic work!
Good work!
