C&C: ShockWave is an enhancement mod for C&C Generals: Zero Hour. The main goal of this mod is to make Zero Hour a more interesting game with more diversity between the generals, making you think twice before you select a certain general, and overall provide more choices, diversity, and strategic freedom than in Zero Hour - while keeping the spirit and design direction of the original Generals game and storyline.

What a waste...this thing requires a gen promotion and quite of bit of money to make. It can only attack air units (assuming they'll even use air units), it's weak, and takes forever to set up. Waste of Points and money.

The Gadfly is a brutal weapon and an excellent anti-air system. With the nerf to anti-air units all aircraft recieved, the Gadfly's relatively high health and decent armor make it a usable unit, especially with its camo upgrade.

The big selling point of the Gadfly is its firepower - one rocket (at least, once AP Rockets is researched) is enough to splash any conventional plane or helicopter. 2 kill a Helix with a Prop Speaker or a Star Lifter. 5 Kill a General Power plane (such as the Tu-94 Bomber that drops Anthrax Bombs for the GLA). The only aircraft this thing can't deal with are Auroras and B2s (the latter more because of their high health AND high speed than anything else).

Moreover, the rockets have splash damage.

The need to deploy and the slow movement speed, atop the inability to do anything to ground units, is a factor - but a small price to pay for a unit that can basically render aircraft a moot point. They're honestly better than SA-2 Sites (though they don't detect and aren't as durable when ground units are firing on them) - so you're insane if you don't make at least token use of them as Salvage GLA.

Description

The Gadfly(swatter) as I like to call it is
perhaps any aircraft's nightmare. If not
moving, the Gadfly crew can purchase a camo net to
cover their vehicle, effectively giving the Gadfly
a major advantage. Once deployed the Gadfly can
send its payload towards an unexpecting target,
almost shredding anything the missile hits, with
that in mind, it is best to keep the Gadfly's
away from stealth detecting units, since its
lightly armored, and it takes time to undeploy the
machine.
