I beat the first game and that does look a lot like Nihilanth. I havent seen any other monster that looks like that.

Sorry dude, this isn't the Nihilanth. It's a controller. They fly around and shoot plasma balls at you. These are much smaller than the Nihilanth, and from the original game.

You’ve obviously misinterpreting our concept art as an indication that we haven’t even started on the Controller. Quite the contrary, our Controller is simply on the blacklist, but we were nice enough to show the concept art we used for it.
... You do understand that nearly every game and movie uses concept art? It's not taking away from the development time... it's PART of the development. Concept art in a mod like this can be used to help modelers get a good idea of what their model should look like without staring at a low-resolution screenshot.
